--Patricia & Paula's 3rd POV--
They left her, there were so many thing that could happen to her... so many bad people out there..
The car was quiet, other than Paula blasting some music and humming to it, at times she'd try to sing along but her words were delayed from the actual lyrics.
Patricia was on the passenger's seat, hugging herself and looking out the window. She missed Norway, she missed the lights, missed the air, missed the view, she missed everything about it.
"Kjærlighet, er du ok?" ("Love, are you okay?") Paula says lowering the music and sharing a few glances at her wife and the road ahead. Patricia nods and lets her arms fall from her self hug. "Det er bare... Jeg føler ikke at vi burde la henne være i fred, hun er fortsatt et barn Paula" ("It's just... I don't feel like we should leave her all alone, she's still a kid Paula")
Paula just hums in thought and stays quiet for a while. "Hun kan ta vare på seg selv.. hun skal klare seg, jeg lover" ("She can take care of herself.. she'll be fine, I promise") she puts a hand on Patricia's thigh. It was comforting, reassuring.
Patricia just nods and closes her eyes. It was dark out, not many cars on the road and most busses were taking their last trip. The lights were bright and kind of shined through her closed eyes, so she closed them tigher so the light couldn't be seen. "Pat, er du sikker på at du vil fortelle henne om... du vet, vil du fortelle henne det når vi kommer tilbake?" ("Pat, are you sure you want to tell her about... you know, you want to tell her when we get back?")
Patricia opens her eyes and looks at the lights. She knows what her wife is talking about. She looks outside from the front car window now, instead of hers. "Ja, vi har ikke så mye valg" ("Yeah, we don't have much of a choice") she breathes out from her nose. She turns to look at Paula- who had a cigarette hanging from her mouth.
Patricia frows a bit. "Jeg trodde du stoppet" ("I thought you stopped") she says while wondering how long her wife had that cigarette, the fact that she didn't even smell it lingered in her mind. She was supposed to protect her family, protect them from these type of addictions that harmed their health. She couldn't even do that for her wife.
Is Tori okay? Did she fail her daughter too? She felt like the only way she could actually protect her family is by risking her life in the army.
("You are a good mom Pat, and you're the best wife I could ever ask for too.. I love you so much, I'm so glad I met you...")
Honestly, Paula could go on and on- saying how much she loved her, saying how thankful she is of her, she could do loving things to her all day and it wouldn't feel like she's doing her wife justice. "Også, jeg antar at jeg løy, kanskje jeg er altfor dyp i denne avhengigheten, men du fortsetter å prøve å hjelpe, takk" ("Also, I guess I lied, maybe I'm far too deep in this addiction, but you keep trying to help, thank you")
Paula rubs her hand up and down her wife's thigh. "Jeg elsker deg" ("I love you") she says lovingly and moves her hand to hold Patricia's, she rub on the top of it with her thumb. Eyes still on the road, driving smoothly and calmly. "jeg elsker deg mer, jeg skal ta en lur ok?" ("I love you more, I'm going to take a nap okay?") Patricia says.
