The team tried to prepare and go to the western port, while Dion recounted how he met the earth elemental and showed them the stonebox.
-"He said, whatever happens, I have to stay strong." -He told them.
-"That won't hurt." -Rocky said.
-"Speaking of which, what did the light elemental tell you?" -Aisha asked.
Dion was quite surprised.
-"You didn't hear it?" -He asked.
-"We only heard little bell sounds." -Kira said. -"It was pretty weird."
Dion took a big breath.
-"He said, that I cannot trust everyone on the way."
-"Can't they say somethin' useful, instead of spittin' facts?" -Kira asked.
-"I'm sure it's not useless if two elementals already appeared before Dion." -Aisha concluded.
-"Why did they only speak to Dion, anyway?" -Rocky asked.
-"Elementals are technically spirits and they only appear when and to who deserves it." -Dion sighed. -"Or at least, that's how I heard."
Everybody looked at Dion.
-"So, are ya a...chosen one?" -Kira asked.
-"No!...I mean yes, but..."
-"Don't be shy now."
-"It's not that, I'm just not sure I'm ready."
-"You can't prepare for something like that. Well, I can only guess, because I can't know." -Aisha said. -"Anyway, you can still prepare, you have time."
-"But how much?" -Dion pondered. -"What are the chances that I'm going to be ready by then?"
-"Maybe that's why the elementals appear before you." -Aisha guessed. -"To prepare you."
Dion nodded, but he still wasn't sure.
After this they went towards west and it was quiet throughout the journey. Most of the time. Dion tried to open the box while walking, but every try failed. In the evenings they rested in inns or slept under the starry sky. It costed a lot of days until they reached the western port. They spent all the money they had to get on a ship. They were on the way to the Mountain Realm to retrieve the eversnow.
-"How do we know where it is, what we're looking for?" -Aisha asked from Kira.
Kira shrugged.
-"We can't know for sure, we're just trying."
-"That's too much time..."
-"We can ask around, somebody has to know."
Dion tried to calm Rocky, because he found out in that minute that Rocky was seasick.
Aisha didn't dare to go near the edges of the ship. Just Kira looked at the sea occasionally, dangerously close to falling.
When they arrived it was already night and most of the team slept. However Dion wasn't able to, so it was his job to wake the others. Although they didn't want to wake up, they knew it was important. At the port a few house stood and, because they were really cold, they entered one of them, where an old couple lived. Fortunately they welcomed them warmly and gave them some food. While near the fire they warmed up.
They left early in the morning. They left behind a letter in which they thanked the couple for welcoming them and quietly walked away. They got clothes from the couple, so they won't freeze, but they didn't help much. It was still better than traveling in their usual clothes.
