THE GROUP, which consisted of Chad, Mindy, Lennon, Wes and Amber. All sat silently in Tara's hospital room.
It was a comforting silence which was interrupted when Sam Carpenter slowly entered the room.
Smiling slightly, Lennon stood up, followed by Chad, Mindy, Amber and Wes.
With no hesitation, Sam crouched down to Tara's level. "How are you feeling?" she softly asked her sister.
Tara looked at Sam with a smile on her face. "You came."
"Of course i came." Sam nodded with a grin. She looked up at this guy, someone no one recognised. "This is my boyfriend, Richie."
Richie greeted Tara. "Its so nice to meet you and im so sorry if i'm intruding."
Tara raised her hand to wave. "Nice to meet you too."
Lennon took it upon herself to greet Sam with a hug. It had been too long and both girls knew that.
"Ive missed you." Sam whispered against Lenny's head.
"Not as much as i have you, i'm sure". The blonde smiled, before stepping away, allowing the others to hug the older girl.
Sam walked to Richie and introduced everyone. "These are Chad and Mindy, the twins, and Wes and Lenny, just siblings. I used to babysit them all." Everyone smiled at the memories from years ago.
"Which is always how i like to be introduced." Wes joked.
Sam awkwardly looked towards Amber. "And Amber, hey."
The Freeman girl raised her eyebrows in greeting. "Hi, Nice to see you."
Richie spoke up randomly. "Hi, i'm Richie."
Lennon leaned towards Mindy. "We didn't get a hi." She faked offense.
Mindy played along, "How rude." she whispered.
"Where's mom?" Sam asked her sister.
"She's stuck at a conference in London. She called me earlier." Tara informed the older Carpenter girl.
Amber muttered under her breath. "Yeah, for all of ten minutes."
"Look, guys, Tara's really tired. Maybe we should just give her some space." Amber called out to the group.
Everyone began to continuously nod and agree, beginning to walk out the room.
Sam started to leave before Tara spoke up. "Not you, Sam. I want you to stay." Taking Sam off guard.
The older girl nodded her head. "Okay."
The teens stood still silently, watching the sisters interact.
