"No deal" I replied "And why is that?" the magician asked back "Because If it were that easy I bet this school would have ended long ago," I said firmly, not wanting to give in to the temptation of saying yes and getting all of this over with. "You thought this through didn't you?" His expression changed, he looked angry and then he disappeared.
I found myself in a hallway and it was still very dark but I could see the outlines of a few objects, I went near to what I thought was the statue, and suddenly all the lights turned on, and the magician's expression changed on the statue too. I went upstairs to where the school was and went into Mr. Gates's office.
He was sitting on the chair talking to someone, it was the Vice principal Miss Margot and she said "We have to find the cause of Miss Sherry and that child's death, we cannot continue this, did you see the markings on the statue?! one more and we will all die!" she seemed very angry "What the hell do you think I'm doing Margot?! I know what will happen, no need to remind me! and keep your voice down, what if someone is trying to listen in on us through the hallways?!"
So what the magician said was true! but I know the deal wasn't. I went to find Mr. Deron about this and I found him in the library "Mr. Deron! I have to ask you some-" "Yes, I know" I got cut off "It happens once a few years, or so I've heard, the fake magician does make a fake deal to some ghost, but when the ghost refuses a curse is put on them if you had accepted it we all would have died and the school would have still been intact"
"Wait What?! Then who was that 'fake magician'?" I asked "Nobody knows but we suspect it to be the soul of the first principal, he possesses the body of the magician but he does not have his powers, he needs the soul to refill his powers"
"But then what curse did he put on me?"
"If you do escape or save everybody here, you will reincarnate to a different world"
Damn! That's only something I heard in stories! well if the world literally can't help me achieve a happy ending I should at least make sure others got one right? Well then, this is for the future me RIP.
