Emma

It was already 8pm when Damian and I realized that we had been on that beach for hours. We had lost track of time.

"Shit! I have to go home, my parents are going to kill me!"

I disappeared from the world for four hours and even Camila didn't know where I was, so knowing my parents, by now they must be thinking of calling the police and reporting me missing.

"This whole thing was surprisingly nice but I really have to go, Damian."- I said rushing and grabbing my tote bag.

"No, I'm not letting you walk, you're all soaked, it'll be dark soon and God knows who might come your way. This is a rich neighborhood but the people who live here can be dangerous!" - he demanded with a protective tone.

I don't know why he decided to be nice to me out of the blue. He used to be a cocky rich kid who suffered from too high self-esteem. But I gave in:

"Fine! I guess I am not in the mood to be kidnapped."

We walked side by side until we reached the car parks. Damian stopped when he got to the edge of a motorbike. I shook my head in disagreement.

"What? Take my helmet. It will be fine."- He said, holding it out to me.
I was petrified and already panicking because I hate, HATE motorbikes.

I was brought back to reality by his touch as he placed his hand over mine, looking deeply in my eyes: "I won't go too fast, I promise!"

I didn't believe him.

The idea of riding a motorbike with Damian and arriving home in his company didn't appeal to me at all, but I had no choice. At this point he had already put his helmet on my head and helped me onto the bike. He was ready to go when he said in a loud tone, over the noise of the engine:

"You know you have to grab my torso or you'll fall off, right?"

"Right!" - I answered, rolling my eyes, not liking that idea one bit.

As soon as I did, he drove off, clearly not keeping the promise he had made two seconds ago.

The ride to my house didn't last long and surprisingly I didn't completely hate it. The wind touched my skin while streetlights on the side of the road lit the way, making me forget how fast we were going, as if the world around us had stopped. Something about it gave me the same feeling as every time I look for the moon in the sky, when I need to breathe. It calmed me down.

"Damian?" - I turned to face him - "Thank you for not letting me be kidnapped!" - I said smiling.

He hid a small chuckle as he shook his head and waved his hand at me. A second later, he was off, driving down the empty road at lightning speed.

My mum wasn't happy when I entered the house. The second I opened the front door both her and my dad were sitting in the kitchen table with a concerned look.

My mum immediately got up on instinct the moment she saw me, heading in my direction and checking my wet clothes with a angry look. My father remained seated and, in a breath of relief, took a sip of his drink.
