Flashback
Little Yeji clung tightly to Mrs. Hwang's arms, seeking comfort as a group of armed men stormed into their massive house. Gunshots echoed through the walls, filling the air with fear.
At just two years old, Yeji looked around, her face filled with worry as she turned to her mother.
"Mama, what's happening?"
she asked, her voice trembling with concern over the sudden gunshots that rang outside.
Mrs. Hwang nodded, bending down to face her precious daughter.
"Don't worry, sweetie. I need you to listen to me,"
she said, her voice filled with love and urgency.
Yeji nodded, her eyes wide with understanding. "Okay, Mama. What do I do?"
"I need you to run, my love. Count to three and then run as fast as you can,"
Mrs. Hwang explained, her voice filled with a mix of sadness and determination.
"But Mama, I don't want to leave you and Soobinnie,"
Yeji protested, showing her intelligence and awareness of the situation.
Mrs. Hwang's heart ached, but she knew it was the only way to keep Yeji safe.
"Please, Yeji, my sweetheart. You have to go. Now, please... go."
Three...
Two...

Yeji looked back at her mother with a heavy heart before sprinting into the woods, desperately searching for an escape.
But then...
The deafening BANG...
The gunshot that ended her mother's life...
The sound shocked Yeji to her core, and in her confusion, she stumbled and hit her head. She screamed out in desperation,
"MAMA!"
Luckily, Mrs. Kang, the owner of an orphanage, heard Yeji's cries and immediately rushed to her aid. She took Yeji to the hospital, where they waited anxiously for her to wake up.
The doctors tried to find any information about Yeji's identity, but their search came up empty. All they could do was wait for Yeji to regain consciousness.
Mrs. Kang sat by Yeji's side, her heart filled with hope and anticipation, praying for answers. The suspense was unbearable as they waited for any sign of who Yeji really was.
Flashback
Mrs Kang waited anxiously for the doctors to say something but was met with no records of being a citizen of Korea
So she decided to take Yeji to the orphanage when she wakes up
Mrs. Kang anxiously awaited any news from the doctors, but they couldn't find any records of Yeji being a Korean citizen. So, she made the decision to take Yeji .
"Ow, where am I?"
Yeji groaned, confused as she sit up in confusion
