The corridor was brushed by a refreshing cool breeze, and as it passed by the rear entrance of the experimental class, an evident pause occurred.

Wei Qingyu stood still, her gaze fixed on the trio of Alphas congregated at the doorway, a glint of coldness flashing in her eyes.

She had overheard the conversation between Ji Xiao and Qi Qi moments ago.

"Apologies, let me go in," Wei Qingyu's voice broke the silence.

Ji Xiao maintained her composure, adhering to her personal demeanor. Despite suspecting that Wei Qingyu might have overheard, she simply responded with a nonchalant "Oh." and provided Wei Qingyu an opening to the door.

Nothing is more awkward than speaking ill of the heroine and getting caught red-handed by her.

In Wei Qingyu's mind, Ji Xiao could almost visualize the surge of displeasure towards her.

Qi Qi and Fang Yiming found refuge behind Ji Xiao, their expressions clearly saying, "Awkward...."

Two dignified A-level Alphas had simultaneously been startled by an Omega. Ji Xiao found this to be a novel experience.

"Sister Xiao, we believe in you."

"Yes, the waters are treacherous, beyond our ability to navigate."

"Best of luck."

In haste, Qi Qi and Fang Yiming offered their reassurances and fled the scene of the crime, leaving their friend behind.

Observing the pair of deserters, Ji Xiao then shifted her gaze to the classroom. Every one of the desks and chairs, totaling thirty-five, was occupied by students.

Wei Qingyu retrieved her textbook from the personal bookcase located at the back row and proceeded to her seat in the center of the second row.

Her posture was consistently poised, a crisp half-sleeved shirt accentuating her slender arms. A fresh textbook lay against her cool white skin, absorbing a faint pink radiance from the sunlight.

If only these hands could perform a gland extraction without a knife, possibly less painfully, it would be most satisfying.

Ji Xiao involuntarily shrank back, sensing the corridor's chill intensify, before making her way back to the classroom.

Outside, the cicadas' chorus had weakened, and a gentle breeze rustled the dark green trees, causing a scattering of blue and yellow leaves.

And thus, Ji Xiao returned to the experimental class, clutching a nearly perfect math paper and a horrid, single-digit creature. She embarked on her journey as a top student in the making.

In her previous high school world, Ji Xiao had also excelled in the experimental class. Armed with her strong foundation, she quickly adapted to the faster pace compared to regular classes, even conquering the challenges of advanced assignments.

However, one subject stood apart: biology.

Though the broader science of this world had remained unchanged, maintaining historical parallels with her original realm, this particular species differed vastly.

This semester included a science exam, and Ji Xiao had already covered three and a half biology textbooks by her freshman year. Now, she was on the verge of concluding the final chapters, with a review scheduled for next month.

Ji Xiao was pressed for time and burdened by a heavy workload. Unfortunately, the previous owner had left behind blank notebooks, leaving the first-year biology book utterly pristine. The cover bore Ji Xiao's name in a fluent script, branding it as a newly purchased copy.
