Corrin pressed her lips over the metal pin in her mouth as she stitched up the clothes. Her neck began to ache again from pressing the phone against her cheek. "Darnell, it works I'm sure of it. She must have taken it out," she said.
"Well it doesn't work. I can't find her. Her location keeps saying it's in my room."
She laughed. "Red is here with me. Do you want me to ask if she did anything?" At those words Red perked her head up. She and Nobunaga were playing cards on the coffee table in her room.
Machi waited patiently as Corrin finished touching up her maroon-lace blouse, tucked into black leggings and overalls. To top it off she had a top hat, obscuring her eyes. Machi groaned as Corrin cinched her waist smaller with a tie.
"Lift up your head, Darling. Your outfit should be tight enough to show you're a woman, and loose enough to show you're a lady."
Machi plastered a fake smile over her face to which Corri giggled.
Red and Illumi were the acquainted guests on the list while Darnell and Machi were the other pair entering separately. Nobunaga, as expected, posed as the bartender and server. Corrin didn't know what Illumi was wearing but she attempted not to drag him into her room for his disguise. That man was fine sticking his needles elsewhere. Still, she secretly hinted at him to wear a silver bow the entire day although she doubted he understood.
Another ache in her neck and she remembered she was still on the phone. "Hello?" Corrin asked.
"I'm still here."
"Well?"
"Yeah...just ask her." His voice gave in.
Corrin fixed the phone to the other side of her shoulder to face her. "Red, did you take the tracker out of your earring?"
She nodded, placing another card down to which Nobunaga grumbled, drawing his card from the pile. Her black feather was still fitted in place, restfully dangling over her shoulder.
"She said she took it out," Corrin said. "I don't know why you thought she wouldn't notice."
Darnell sighed through the phone. "Nevermind that. And I just found the tracker on my pillow."
"See, my gadgets never let me down. See you soon." Coring hung up the phone and stepped back to review the final look. "All done, Machi. You look so divine. Remind me to take a picture later."
Machi rolled her eyes then glanced in the mirror, nodding approvingly before Corrin made her way over to Red.
She decided a feminine suit style was the look for her. Afterall, appearance was everything for this invitation right? Especially for her identity disguise. High waisted trousers snatched at her waist. White overall straps fastened over a silked black button up. A silver tie highlighted her chest. A cropped pinstripe blazer wrapped her shoulders. Add in tight gloves, black heels then a swab of red lipstick. Corrin felt her cheeks tingle, obsessed with the outfit she created. She was literally a genius. But her hair...Red always managed to get it tangled so she did her best to tighten it into a low bun, topped with another fancy hat. Corrin pulled out loose strands to frame her face and curled it with her fingers.
"Voila." Corrin finally checked her watch. "It's almost nine o' clock. Where's Illumi?" Everyone shrugged. "Well then–"
"HA!" Nobunaga slapped his cards on the table. "That's two pairs. I win." He leaned back on the sofa with a cheeky laugh. "That's five shots for you and a free room for me."
Red placed her cards down then held out a fist over her palm.
Nobunaga shook his head so fast. "Stop suggesting Rock-Paper-Scissors every time you lose, dammit."
