As he entered the store, the rain drumming softly outside was a soothing backdrop he had hoped to grab a quick meal.

Then he spotted her standing there, lost in thought trying to select a cereal, and his heart skipped a beat.
She was captivating in a way that pulled him in. When he offered to pay for her groceries, he watched her closely, eager to gauge her reaction, flashing her his practiced killer smile.

“Can’t I pay for a beautiful lady when I see one?” he said, trying to keep his tone light. He couldn’t help but notice the way her expression shifted, surprise flickering across her face and the annoyance when she mumbled her thanks, it was almost intoxicating.
There was something about her an energy that drew him closer, igniting a desire to know more. He wanted to unravel her layers, to understand what made her tick. When she snatched her bags back, a flash of disappointment crossed his mind. Did she really think he was just some guy looking to impress?
As she turned away, he felt an urge to reach out, to stop her and draw her back into conversation. There was a spark, something he couldn’t quite define, and he was determined not to let it slip away as it has been a while since he felt this way.

Watching her leave, he felt a wave of resolve wash over him. He would see her again. This was just the beginning of something, and he wasn’t going to let fear dictate his next move.
