[The next day, Harry, Aurora and Ron are visiting Hermione in the Hospital Wing again; Aurora takes the old dried up flowers out of the vase next to Hermione's bed, puts in some new white flowers, then sits on the bed. They seemingly overlook the piles of handwritten notes in Abigail's writing from all their classes, as well as a note with a single peony, her favourite.]

"She looks so frail.." Sophia muttered pulling Josh into her embrace, she could feel the tension rising and seeing someone as hurt as Hermione was pulled at her heart. Anyone she's close to could be hurt at any second there was a war brewing around them and she couldn't protect her brother anymore, her best friend.

Hermione pulled her friends into a large embrace all of them looking away from the screen, not wanting to remember herself in that state. She chuckled at the notes from Abigail and whispered a soft 'thank you' to the girl.

Harry: We all wish you were here, Hermione. We need you. Now more than ever. [Hermione just lays there with her glossy facial expression as Ron sighs sadly. Aurora rubs Hermione's left hand, lying over her friends body with a soft sob, she intended to hide from the boys; feeling something in her hand, she looks down and removes her hand to discover a crumpled up piece of paper, a library book page, which he carefully removes and straightens out.]

Ron: [glancing at the page] What's that?

Shaking her head with a smile Narcissa looked over to the Granger girl, the small clue reminding her of the clues Andromeda would leave around the house for their special Christmas traditions.

Aurora: [examining the page] No way. This is why Hermione was in the library the day she was attacked. [glances at the page and then back at Ron and Harry as they get up] Come on! [Harry, Aurora and Ron walk through the corridor as Harry snatches the page from her, reading.]

Harry: "Of the many fearsome beasts that roam our land, none is more deadly than the . Capable of living for hundreds of years, instant death awaits any who meet this giant serpent's eye. Spiders flee before it..." [looking up at Aurora] Guys, this is it. The monster in the Chamber of Secrets is a Basilisk. That's why we can hear it speak. It's a snake.

James Potter fainted.

Ever since he was little the boy had wanted to show people the love he experienced every day from his parents. It's why he loved so loudly; asking out Lily Evans day after day, making sure people knew they were loved, his friends especially. He wanted to share that love to his children and in a matter of hours he had discovered that not only did he not get to bring them up but they would be put in danger until the day Voldemort was gone. A day no one believed would come.

Ron: [processing the information they just read] But if it kills by looking people in the eye, why is it no one's dead?

Harry: [thinking for a few seconds then looking at the window] Because no one did look it in the eye. Not directly, at least. [they walk along as they go over how each of the victims were petrified] Colin saw it through his camera.
Aurora: Justin... Justin must've seen the Basilisk through Nearly Headless Nick. Nick got the full blast of it, but he's a ghost. He couldn't die again.
Harry: And Hermione... had the mirror. I bet you anything she was using it to look around corners in case it came along.

"Twins" Fred and George muttered together with a smile, while many others in the hall - Regulus Black - admired the shared intelligence they were displaying.

Ron: And Mrs. Norris? I'm pretty sure she didn't have a camera or a mirror, Aurora, Harry.

Aurora: [thinking about how Mrs. Norris got petrified, then remembering] The water... There was water on the floor that night. She only saw the Basilisk's reflection.
