The sun gently shined on the impiral manor. The wind blew, making the trees sway and the birds sing. Truely a beautiful sight.
Liu Xin wasnt normaly a super happy person, how could he be? He was constently yelled at by this grandmother, and court! He was the emperor, why do these people think they have a say in anything!? Liu Xin looked at himself in the bronze mirror and sighed, he has always sucked at doing his hair. He knew how it was supose to go, but he hated it that way! It was too hard to figure out! And so, since he was the emperor after all, he just put half of it up and went back to changing his robes.
He truely did have a court meeting today and so he desided to wear a pair of gold-yellow colored robes, with a dragon painstakenly embrodered onto it. This was hand made by a friend of the emperor's before their passing and so he took very goood care of it. He never let any of the servets, palace maid or eunuch, touch it. He cleaned it himself, much to the dismay of consort Fu, and he wore it all the time. He would wash it every night.
He looked at himself in the mirror, he smirked slightly before nodding his head. He glanced over at the still sleeping Dong Xian. Then again, the people of the court woke late compared to the emperor. He was in for a surprise when he wakes up. Liu Xin didnt mind, he was the one who let him sleep in his bed. Even if he is late it wouldnt matter, the emperor will make an excuse about it for him. Such a kind emperor huh? Liu Xin took a deep breath, at lest the hand print was gone from his face, that was good! But he was still upset, why wouldnt he be? No only is a old rude hag trying to take away his power, but he also fell hoplessly in love with someone of his court and he knew no one would except this..Well they will just have to learn how to!
Since no one can stop him!
Liu Xin gently brushes a strand of hair from Dong Xian's face, he then leaned in gently and whisptered, "I'll be at court, wake up when you want, I will cover for you." He then gently kissed the other man's forhead and left. The court room wasnt too far away from his bed chambers, well I mean when your walking everything seems far away but still. (I have a picture of Weiyang palace but since I cant read chinese, I am only useing it as a refrince and not fully useing it). Liu Xin grabbed his fan and walked out the paper door. He didnt really need the fan today since there was a cool breeze, it wasnt as hot as it was yesterday so he just put the fan in his robe sleeve. He looks at the palace maids picking the weeds from the cracks inbetween some of the buildings. He wasnt happy to be going to a court meeting, who would, but he had to not only discuss the isues with his grandmother but also he needed to marry off Dong Xian. As jealous as he was he still wouldnt refuse his request, no matter how much he wanted to.
Well yes, Liu Xin was a tyrant, but it was mostly because of consort Fu. You would also be a jerk if someone was trying to take over you life! But hey, if Dong Xian wanted him to like reduce taxes or whatever, then he would do just that for Dong Xian! But he didnt really care for anyone else. His concubines? Not importent! His late wife? They always argued! His court? Come one I dont think there was a single emperor who liked his court. His grandmother? Can y'all not read!?
Liu Xin hasnt loved anyone untell he met Dong Xian.
Liu Xin entered his court room thingy and sat down in his throne
Liu Xin rested his head in the palm of his hand. The court ranted on about pointless matter and he was getting annoyed. Why does this always happen? Liu Xin will try to talk about something, and someone will always try to change the topic.
Liu Xin clap his hands twice and the court went slient.
"The first topic at hand, consort Fu still wants to be empress dowger, but I kept saying no. And so now she came up with a 'new' title, 'princess dowger'." The court's expression seemed to dim as Liu Xin brought up consort Fu.
Well the court was kinda forced to like consort Fu, they didnt like her. If they didnt speak carefuly, their heads would be rolling. Liu Xin crossed his arms as stared on at the court. Everyone was quiet.
Liu Xin smirked slightly."Then i'll take that as a no, and that the court says it wouldnt be a good idea!"
No one spoke back, they just held back their words and bowwed their head slightly. Suddenly, the door bursts open, Dong Xian stands in the door way panting. His robes were messy, and his pretty hair disevled. He rushed over to kowtow infront of the emperor. "This one over slept! This one is sorry! Please forgive this one! This one will take any punishment you deam fit!"
Liu Xin couldnt help but laugh. It was a happy laugh rather then a cold and mocking laugh. Dong Xian rased his head slightly, the gauze hat sliping more to the side then it already was. Such a cute sight! Liu Xin couldnt help but laugh.
Dong Xian blushes slightly and bows his head once again, "Your majesty? May this one ask what I did that is so funny?" Liu Xin didnt answer. He just smiled.
"Get up Dong Xian." Dong Xian rushes to his feet.Liu Xin orders one of the people to fill in Dong Xian on their small meeting.
And he left.
