Dong Xian rushed to the front gate of the inner palace. Ignoring the cold wind that bit at his face. It wasnt unnormal for a blizzared to happen, but so suddenly? Dong Xian didnt even hear it coming! A young lady stood at the front gate, robes a bright red with a golden trim as if a bride. The robes were lined with a highest of fur one could buy. Her hair thrashed around, she struggled to walk closer. Dong Xian rushed over, pulling the girl into a tight hug. "You stupid girl! Always coming at the worst of times!" The two laughed as they embraced. Dong Xian dragged her into the palace, ordering for hot tea to be made. He shouldnt leave Liu Xin alone, but...His sister was more importent. Dong Wuji giggles as she excepts the tea from the palace maid. Even with her cheeks bright red from the cold she was still happy. "So, where is the emperor? Shouldnt he be greeting me aswell?" Dong Xian cringed slightly. It wasnt a good thing to expose that the emperor was ill, it gave others a higher chance of trying to take over the empire. Even most of the palace workers dont know of the emepror's sicken state. Dong Xian sits down next to Dong Wuji, leaning forwerd to whispter to her. "I shouldnt be telling you this..But the emperor has fallen ill." Dong Wuji's expression lighten slightly, she then frowns. "And you didnt call? You know I'm a good doctor!" Dong Xian rubs the back of his next slightly, he was a little embarrassed. Dong Wuji is very good at healing others. Every time Dong Xian got ill, which was alot, she nurse him back to health 4 days top. But it didnt cross his mind to ask her for help with the emperor. He would honestly feel bad, Dong Wuji always tells him to ask for help when needed. Dong Xian has done everything for her, so she doesnt mind helping. Dong Xian just gets flustered easly and then forces himself to fix everything. Dong Xian lets out a defeated sigh, "Your right Xiao Mei..I really should learn to do that." Dong Wuji nods and puffs out her chest slightly, she always did this when people admit that she is right.
It took months for the Emperor Ai to finally get better, he consently fell in and out of illness no matter how many doctors they called for. Even Dong Wuji couldnt tell what was wrong with him. The Empress was in consent fights with Consort Fu, the Consort trying to use her little bit of power to take over court, and the Empress already got the power to over rule Consort Fu since she was married to the Emperor even if she is unhappy. Or, they were told that the empress and the consort were fighting, no one has seen or heard from Empress Wu since Liu Xin got ill back in the early winter months. Even Hong Yan hasnt been able to talk to the empress. Dong Xian worked hard to keep the emperor company, his wife also helping. Dong Xian and Hong Yan visited everyday, making sure the Emperor rested and didnt cause too much issues.
It was a while, but Liu Xin was up and all normal once more. Dong Xian desided that because of Liu Xin's new found health that they should take a stroll in the guarden even if it was still regrowing.
Liu Xin sat on his bed, poetry book in hand. His long soft inky hair fell over his shoulder and down his chest, riseing every breath he takes. He hasnt had a moment to himself in a long time, since he got sick. Dong Xian stood in the doorway, abit hesitent to enter and ruin this moment, but Liu Xin was looking a little too pale. So, Dong Xian clears his throat and enters the room, holding a board with a golden robe on it. "Your majesty, please forgive my rudeness, but you should go out and take a walk." Dong Xian tried to talk strong and confidently, but the soft quiver of his voice was noticable. Liu Xin looks up, his warm auburn eyes bore into Dong Xian, leading the poor offical to feel weak in his knees. Liu Xin nods and stands up, putting his book down. Dong Xian quickly took his spot at the emperor's side, ready to dress him, but Liu Xin puts a hand up to stop him. "I do not need to get all dressed up for a simple walk, go fetch me a over robe or something." Dong Xian stood there, blinding in shock. Was the emperor really planing on going outside like...that? Dong Xian shakes his head and starts getting to thinking. Dong Xian spins around, slowly walking to the doorway, before stoping. "Oh! Wait." Dong Xian was a wearing a lovely winter over robe right now, since the palace was still abit cold or at lest too cold for Dong Xian. Hong Yan does make fun of him for that. The overrobe Dong Xian was wearing was more like a third layer of robe, like seriously it isnt open in the front. It was light weight enough though and should work well. It was made from cotton, with a white to green gradent with bamboo embrodery. It was more simple then what Dong Xian normaly wore since he entered the palace, but he liked it alot. Dong Xian takes off his extra robe, and lightly drapes it over Liu Xin's shoulders. "Ready my lord?" Liu Xin lets out a soft snicker, shaking his head. "Dong Xian, I promise you dont have to call me that. I wont mind." Dong Xian knew Liu Xin wouldnt care about what he calls him. But Dong Xian cares, it felt wrong being too improper with him. "Liu Xin...lets just go on our walk." Dong Xian stood there, waiting for Liu Xin to start moving. Liu Xin arches an eyebrow, before clearing his throat and holding out his arm. Dong Xian furrows his eyebrows, clearly embarrassed. Liu Xin didnt need help walking, he clearly just wanted to make Dong Xian affection. So Dong Xian puts a hand on his forearm, and holds his hand with the other hand.
Who would have thought that insted of a nice summer walk, the emperor would be stumbling around and clinging to his favorite commander of armed forces. Liu Xin's devotion to this man held no bounds, even if his grandmother is angery about it behind closed doors. Liu Xin lets out a sigh as Dong Xian helps him lean against the wall. "So..How has court been fairing without me?" Classic Liu Xin, always in the mood for some drauma. Dong Xian runs his hand through his hair, trying to remember what the servents have told him. Dong Xian hasnt been able to go to court since he's been taking care of the ill emperor, so he used the palace maids and eunuchs, hell even guards, to get information just in case Liu Xin's life was at risk.
"Well, Her majesty has been mostly hiding away, not even Hong Yan has been able to report on that. Consort Fu has mostly taken over court." Liu Xin froze, sqeezing Dong Xian's hand tightly, his eyebrows furrowed.
"Take me to the Imperial Court."
