your daughter walks in on you fighting (requested)

Ryujin came up behind you and put her arms around you before placing a soft kiss on your neck.

"How are you today, baby?"

"Fine." You mumbled before pulling away from her.

You had just finished the dishes from dinner and Ryujin figured now that you were done, you could go up to the bedroom and cuddle for a while since Iris has gone to bed already.

But she was starting to second guess that idea because you didn't seem to be in the best mood tonight.

"Did I do something wrong?"

You turned around to face her and folded your arms over your chest.

"You moved out of the dorm and in here just a few days ago and I know you're busy so I'm trying to cut you a little slack here but sometimes, it'd be nice to have a little help."

She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.

"What do you mean?"

"I'm not trying to treat you like a maid because you're not and I know that you have an extremely busy career but I could use a little help around here now that you live here. You could've helped me cook since you didn't have any plans today but you sat on the couch. You could've helped with the dishes but you just watched me do them instead."

"Baby, I didn't know you needed help."

"You could've asked!"

"I could say the same back to you! If you need help, ask me for it. I'm not a mind reader."

"You don't have to be a mind reader to see that I have my hands full!" You said before groaning in frustration. "I'm not a clean freak but I don't like things to be messy, especially for Iris's sake. But since you moved in, there's more stuff and it's such a mess! And I'm overwhelmed with my own job and Iris starts school again soon. I just need a little help here!"

"Then tell me that! Don't just get mad at me like this. If you're that overwhelmed, then tell me!"

You let out a long sigh and shook your head.

"Maybe you need to go to bed. You're grumpy." She said.

You gasped, unable to believe that she'd actually said that to you.

"Excuse me?"

"You don't need to be so grumpy, Y/N. I don't like this mood you're in."

"Dammit, Ryujin." You groaned. "I'm not trying to be grumpy, I'm trying to talk to you and I'm frustrated!"

"All I wanted was to have a nice night with you since Iris went to bed early. But maybe I've changed my mind."

"Because I'm asking you to help me with things instead of just sitting on your butt? Look, I know you must be tired but I am too and I still have things to get done. This is your house too now! You could chip in sometimes!"

Before either of you could say another word, the floor creaked and you both turned your heads to find Iris standing across the room.

"Iris, honey, what are you doing up?" You asked.

"I heard yelling."

"I'm sorry, sweetie," Ryujin said. "We're just talking."

"No, you're yelling."

You and Ryujin stared at each other for a second.

"Are you gonna leave?"

Ryujin was shocked to hear Iris ask that.

"No, honey. Not ever. Why would you think that?"

Iris shrugged her shoulders without a word but you both knew the reason behind her question for Ryujin.

After your relationship with your ex failed and they walked out on you and Iris, she's afraid that Ryujin will do the same.

"Honey, I'm not leaving. Not ever. Your mom and I are just having a bad night." She said as she pulled Iris in for a hug. "Everything's okay."

"Is it?" Iris asked as she looked at you.

"Yeah." You said with a little smile. "You have nothing to worry about, baby. Everything's fine."

"If you go back up to bed, I'll come tuck you in and sing you a song," Ryujin said and watched Iris's eyes light up.

"Okay!" She said before hurrying up the stairs to her room.

You and Ryujin looked at each other in silence for a second before you both said, in unison,

"I'm sorry."

She walked back over to you and pulled you into her arms.

"I should've never gotten on you like that. I know you're busy and you're tired and this move has been a lot."

"Yeah, but it's worth it. And you weren't wrong. I'm just not used to having a lot of responsibilities like this. Don't get me wrong, I've always had a lot to do since ITZY started but I've never had a family like this, so I'm still adjusting."

You nodded understandingly.

"I need to chip in and help you, especially with my own messes. I'm sorry for getting upset with you but I promise, from now on, I'll help you in every way that I can. You're not alone, okay? That's why I moved in with you and Iris - to care for you and be here for you."

"I love you." You said before kissing her lips.

"I love you even more." She smiled as she put her forehead against yours.

"Iris is waiting on you."

"I know." She chuckled. "Will you go to the bedroom and wait for me so we can watch a movie and cuddle?"

"I'd love that."

You shared a few quick pecks before you both headed upstairs, everything now behind you as you look forward to a great night together.
