First, I was on Earth, living in misery. Now, I'm here on a spaceship, hidden in a cryo capsule, currently headed to Pandora.

I don't know why I thought this was a good idea. In fact, I don't remember even sneaking onto this ship.

I remember being with my dad, who is the best. We played together, and he always made time for me. I loved him.

Now, he is dead and my mom got remarried and...well, let's not get into it.

I remember sneaking out of the house at night, and then the rest was a blur.

I was shaken out of my thoughts when someone outside spoke. "Activating the cryo capsules." they said. "Sweet dreams."

Sweet dreams?

The cryo capsules might be for resting. It makes sense. After all, the journey to Pandora is a long one.

The air around me got heavy, then light. My eyelids started to droop down, and then, I was in darkness.

I slowly wake up. I feel that I'm not in the cryo anymore, but on a table. A light is shining on my face. I can see it through my eyelids.

I open my eyes to find a woman holding a flashlight above me. "She's awake." she said to someone nearby.

As I try to get up, a blue hand comes out of nowhere and places itself on my stomach, pushing me back. A blue head appears above me. Avatars.

I remember listening to my dad about how scientists had discovered Pandora, and how they grew lookalikes for the humans to bled in with the Na'vi people who live on Pandora.

"Good morning." the avatar said. He looked like he was deciding to kill me or use me, and couldn't decide which.

I struggle underneath his hand, and finally managed to sit up. I look around, and found myself in a white room, with the table in the middle and a door at one corner.

If things go south, I could grab the flashlight, blind them, and run out the door.

Of course, I wouldn't have any place to go.

"You must be very sneaky to sneak up on this ship." the avatar said.

"I don't know." I respond sharply. "It was all a blur."

The avatar chuckled. "What's your name?"

"Eve. What's yours?"

The avatar paused, and I feel that he was trying not to laugh again. "Colonel Quaritch." he said. He paused again, then said "I should tell you that we don't take trespassers lightly here. The usual punishment is death."

I wanted to scoff, to prove that I wasn't scared. But, on the inside, I was paralyzed with fear.

"It's a good thing that you could be of use for us."

That caught me off guard. "What?" I asked.

"Isn't that inhumane?" the woman asked. For a minute, I forgot that she was there.

"It's just a chip. No chemicals or dissecting." Quaritch replied.

"What?" I asked again.

"Come with me." he said, placing a hand on my shoulder and forcing me off the tabble and out of the room.

We walked down a hallway to another room. This room was gray, and filled with benches, weapons, and other avatars. There was also a window, which showed Pandora. It was so...beautiful.

Unfortunately, Quaritch pushed me down on a bench, and blocked my view of the planet. "We're working on this chip that allows humans to breathe Pandora air." he said. "The logic is that it attaches itself to the windpipe, and reduce the thickness of Pandora air."

As he continued to talk about the differences between Pandora air and oxygen, which I already know about, I scan the room. I could grab a bunch on weapons, fire them, and run out the room.

But, I have to wait to make sure if I'm really in danger

"We need someone to test it out on." he finished.

That got my attention. "What do you mean?" I ask.

"We're not sure if the chip will do more help than harm, so we need someone to test it out on." Quaritch explained. "Before, we thought that we need to sacrifice on of our own, but with you hear, we don't have to."

I stare at him in disbelief. "So, I'm your lab rat."

He shrugged. "I guess you could put it that way."

On Earth, this is illegal!

But, I guess we're not on Earth anymore.

I suddenly got up, planning to grab some guns, but Quaritch seemed to know that was what I was thinking, and quickly grabbed me. He pushed me back on the bench, and slapped a pair of handcuffs on my wrists. "So you don't do anything stupid." he said. "Otherwise, I'm supposed to eliminate you."

I look at my wrists in dread. I thought that I was escaping hell, by leaving home.

But it looked like it wasn't going to let me go easily.
