We entered the tulkun's mouth, and it was wet and messy.

Everyone wore hazmat suits expect for me, Eve, and Quaritch. "These creatures are very intelligent. Smarter than us." Garvin said, pressing some buttons on his tablet.

"Not smarter than me." Scoresby said.

"That's setting the bar very low."

"Hey, I'm the one with a harpoon."

Garvin looked at his tablet, pressed a button, and sent a drill up the top of the tulkun's mouth. "How do you know that their smarter than us?" I asked.

He pointed out the neutrons and electrons in their brains. "Make them more emotional." he added. "Spirtual."

Then, he drained some golden liquid from it's brain, putting it in a bottle. Scoresby shined a ligth over it, and picked it up. "What's that?" Eve asked. From the look on her face, it looked like she  already knew.

"Amrita." Garvin said.

"Too bad for the big boys." Scoresby said. "This stuff happens to stop human aging. Like, stops it."

"Think fast!" He faked threw at me, and I ducked.

"Don't." Garvin said. "It's never funny."

"This stuff is also worth a lot in the market." Scoresby said. "Pays for you research, eh Garvin?"

"That's why I drink."

Scoresby shot one more look at the bottle. "That's it?" Eve asked. "You just waste the whole thing?"

Scoresby glanced at her, then to Quaritch. "Control your lab rat." Eve looked offended, but didn't say anything.

"Release the bags!" Scoresby said. "Let's sink her!"

"No." Quaritch said. "I want them to know it was us."

Scoresby walked back to him, and said "I charge extra being used as bait."

A few months of tulkun hunting passed by. Every time they kill a tulkun, I couldn't help but think how wrong it was.

Eve seemed to think the same thing. She would look disgusted, then angry that she couldn't do anything about it.

Speaking of Eve, everyday, I could feel my feelings for her grow, but I can't admit to her. I know that she just sees me as a friend and nothing else.

Also, it was kind of hard to see her as the same happy Eve, after hearing her story. I know that, even though she seemed happy, she hid her sadness deep inside.

It, also, gave me hope that she was, also, hiding her feelings for me.

One day, Scoresby shot a tracker at a tulkun, who was, strangely, alone. We were on the bridge when when the Na'vi kids came.

Quaritch looked through the binoculars, and said "Well I'll be. Sully's kids."

My breath stopped in my throat, and Eve noticed it. "Your friends?" she asked. I nodded.

"Let's go." Quaritch said. "Not you two." he added.

We watched as Quaritch climbed onto his ikran, and flew down to the tulkun, along with the boat with Scoresby and his men.

"Let's go inside." Garvin said, pushing us inside.

Eve watched the screen while I looked out the window. Sure enough, Quaritch came back with a net that had Tuk and some Na'vi girl, with Lo'ak dangling from the net, trying to cut it.

"That's my friend!" I told Eve. "I need to get to them!"
