Ares

"Why are you all running?" I asked, confused while Max and his friends try to catch their breath.

"Dom-" Max began.

"Ares." Dom barked. Dom was stomping towards us with his group of minions, while the vein on his forehead looked ready to pop. Max's eyes went huge. Elio, Max, and Alex surround me.

"what are you all doing," I asked to Max and his friends, ignoring Dom.

"Dom and his friends are gonna gang up on you." Max mumbles, turning to me.

"what?" I asked, confused. Why is Dom trying to fight me now? I haven't seen him since his stupid party, and I wasn't the one who hit him. I looked at Dom and he was tense, him and his four friends all had their fists up.

"You couldn't beat me by yourself, so you brought your stupid friends." I snickered. Wow, I knew he was a dumbass but this tops the cake. Dom is a wimp.

"Scared?" Dom asked, smugly.

I roll my eyes, I move Max and Elio from in front of me and walk up to Dom. "What do I have to be scared of? The five of you together equal one little bitch, and you're asking if that scares me." I smiled. I wanted to laugh when Dom's face fell and his little vein popped back out.

"You're not gonna be laughing when you're on the floor, begging us to stop." Dom said, jabbing his finger into my chest. I looked down to my chest then back to Dom, and without even thinking I punched him. Starting exactly what he wanted.

Dom stumbled back not expecting me to punch him first, his nose already bleeding. One of Dom's friends' got in my face. "what? You want to get punched too?" I hissed, hitting him with my chest so he could back up. Dom's friend hesitated for a moment but then charged towards me, fists raised. I quickly dodged one of the attackers, grabbing his arm and swing him into the other two, knocking them down. I heard someone groan, and turned around just in time to block Dom's punch with my forearm.

"You think you're tough?" I asked him, my voice dripping with disdain.

Dom snarled and swung at me again, but this time I was ready. I caught his fist in my hand and twisted, hearing a crack. He screamed in pain and fell to the ground, holding his hand to his chest.

"You got lucky," Dom groaned from the ground, clutching his hurt hand.

I glared down at him. "Luck had nothing to do with it, Dom. You're all bark, no bite."

Just then, the school's principal, Mr. Omar, stepped outside and saw us. He quickly rushed over, his face red with anger.

"What in the world is going on here? Fighting on school grounds will not be tolerated!" he barked.

I stepped back, already knowing that Mr. Omar had a no-nonsense policy when it came to violence on school property. Especially since, this isn't the first time he's caught us in a altercation.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Omar," I said, trying to diffuse the situation. "Dom and I just had a little disagreement."

Mr. Omar frowned and looked down at Dom, who was still nursing his injured hand."I don't want to hear any excuses," he said sternly. "Fighting is unacceptable and it shows a complete disregard for the safety and well-being of your fellow classmates."Dom looked chastened, but I could tell he was still seething with anger.

"I understand, sir," I said, hoping to steer the conversation back to a more productive direction. "It won't happen again."

Mr. Omar nodded. "See to it that it doesn't. And Dom, I suggest you see the school nurse about your hand. I'll see you both in detention for the rest of the week next week. Now go home, before I add three more weeks." Mr.Omar grabbed Dom off the floor taking him inside the building, taking him the nurse.

"That was awesome." Chris applauded.

"Damn Ares, you really didn't need our help for shit." Alex said slapping my back.

"You all knew this was gonna go down?" i asked annoyed, why didnt they just tell me.

"yeah," Elio spoke up first, "i overheard Dom planning to gang up on you when you were alone."

I scoffed, shaking my head in disbelief. Clearly, Dom had been dropped on his head as a child. Even with his pathetic crew of wannabe tough guys, he wouldn't stand a chance against me. I've been trained for as long as I can remember. The moment my sister and I could walk, our dad signed us up for fighting classes—boxing, jiu-jitsu, kickboxing, you name it. Our family took self-defense seriously, and for good reason. "Why didn't you just tell me?" I pressed, frustration lacing my voice

"So you wouldn't get in trouble and... you know, get beaten," Chris chimed in.

"Well, I didn't get beaten, but here I am, stuck with a stupid week's worth of detention," I replied, rolling my eyes. The thought of sitting in that stuffy classroom with nothing to do for an entire week made my skin crawl.

Max, still processing the initial shock, looked at me wide-eyed, curiosity etched across his face. "But seriously, how did you learn to fight like that?"

"My dad made me and my sister take all these classes for self defense, he's a boxer so he thought we'd be like him... i guess."

"Of course your dad is a cool-ass boxer. Who's your dad?" Alex asked, his tone a mixture of admiration and disbelief..

"His name is Zeus."

"Damn your family really played into the geek mythology huh?" Elio jokes.

"yeah, something like that." I replied, letting out a laugh of my own.
