(Not dating yet // post-btsv)
3rd person POV (noticed most of these stay in the view of Miles tho, it's easier to start/write with him but idk)
Something noticeable about Hobie was how tired he seemed, almost all the time.
Every spiderman was always a little sore or a little beaten up, but you could just tell Hobie was always exhausted.
Miles picked up on it about a week or two after meeting Hobie, when the group started to get along better as friendship started being restored, right after The Spot battle.
He had visible eyebags, which Miles only knew one other person with. And that person was in his forties with one kid.
Another thing was how much Hobie leaned on random things.
Walls, doors, people. Just always putting pressure on something other than his own legs. Miles had thought it was just a thing he did, a persona thing. But when Hobie leaned on him, he could feel the weight that Hobie was entrusting him with.
Miles asked Gwen and Pav about it, but he soon found out he didn't really put pressure on them.
So he paid closer attention to Hobie on his own.
He noticed Hobie would text him later into the night, would visit later, and leave hours after Miles fell asleep. Sometimes Hobie accidentally kept Miles awake, which he usually apologized for.
Hobie was oblivious to this detail. He saw the usual stares or stolen glances he got from Miles, but the ones Miles gave him when he was seriously paying attention were much easier to hide when he wasn't a flustered mess.
Hobie had began to seem more tired. A little slower than everybody else, his spider sense even seemed a little on the fritz.
But he ignored Miles' recommendations to get some rest, saying he didn't have time.
But what Miles didn't know was how much trouble Hobie had in the first place, mixed with the usual spiders heightened senses.
It was something Hobie had been dealing with for years now, and any melatonin or medicine he'd (stolen) in the past had stopped working as well, some not working at all due to his spider bite.
He usually only got an hour or two of sleep every few days, the abilities and strength of the spider abilities basically being the only thing still getting him to do what he needed to do as spider man.
Recently, he'd been getting less than that. Thoughts kept him up more now, and he didn't feel comfortable in his own bed. He used to find his home on his boat nice, calm even. A change of pace for spider-punk. But it didn't feel like that to him anymore, and he just couldn't sleep.
It was another night he felt haunted in his own home, and he slipped over to Miles' universe.
A light tap on the boys window.
Enough to get his attention if he was awake, but not too much to wake him up if he'd fallen asleep.
It was around 2 am, and Hobie wasn't expecting him to be awake.
He usually came about 2 hours earlier when he visited late, but he hadn't planned on coming over in this first place.
A light turned on, and a confused Miles pulled open the window.
