A father went shopping, with his 18-year-old son to a clothes store to purchase shirts and trousers for his son. The storekeeper showed some clothes that fitted him well. At this point, theson said, "Father, let us buy a shirt that is one size bigger and I will tuck it insidemy trousers. This will be useful next year also!" The father was very happy at his son's thoughtfulness and after leaving the store, they went to a mobile showroom.
"Son, soon you will start college and it would be good if you had a mobile phone so that we can keep in touch." "But dad, I will not be going out anywhere.
Even if I did, I will go along with my friends who already have their mobile phones. I will leave their contact numbers with you. Besides, you incur expenses for recharging. Instead, let us spend the money on the new pair of spectacles for grandpa."
The father was amazed to hear this and he could not help asking his son, "Son, who has given you such noble thoughts? Who taught you to save money?" The son looked up and answered,"You do your job with all honesty and run the household on a limited salary.People praise your steadfastness at the job. They recognize me as the son of an honest father. I am lucky to have you as my father. Dad, there is a person that lives in our street and works at the same office as you. He has become wealthy through unscrupulous dealings. People call him a thief and an immoral rogue behind his back."
Shortly, the son concluded, "Dad, I would rather have one less pair of shoes or clothes than tolerate anyone calling you bad names like the other person! I do not need anything else. Your honesty is more valuable to me."
True Love means being grateful towards elders, appreciating their positive qualities constantlyand being thoughtful!
