After walking around pointlessly for 15 minutes, I decided to just walk home.

Looking at my gps on my phone by the time I get home it'll be around 4 so a good hour before my dad would be getting up for work. Reminded of dad I feel my stomach drop at the idea of my parents waiting awake for me at home. I check my notifications just in case I magically missed a call or text from them. Seeing nothing I put my phone in my back packet and continue walking straight on a lit up sidewalk.

4:26am is the time I walk up my driveway. No lights in the house are on which is a good sign.

4:31 I finally get inside the front door successfully not creating any creeks. Slowly standing straight I attempt to look around in the dark with my ears on high alert. Hearing nothing I take off my shoes leaving them at the front door and take my time getting back into my room finally able to relax when I faintly still hear my dad snoring from the top of the stairs.

Considering the current time I know that if I go to sleep now I will in fact not be able to wake up on time so I decide to take a extra long shower suddenly feeling icky after being surrounded by a bunch of drunk and fucked up teens.

Too tired to blow dry my hair, or honestly do anything with it, I let it air dry until 6:45 when I actually start getting up and ready for the day. My eyebags painfully evident and face puffy. With no motivation I brush my teeth, half ass wash my face and put on a thin layer of mascara. I walk back to my room and look at my closet zoning out on what I should wear eventually deciding on my worn out light grey sweatpants and a dark blue hoodie with no shirt underneath. Planning on sleeping during my classes, I really don't want to feel constrained in my clothes so I don't care.

Somehow I took way longer than I thought getting ready, probably due to going off of no sleep and I'm not moving that fast, but it's almost time for me to leave to school so I head downstairs and to the kitchen.

I hear mom before I see her standing in front of the stove cooking some eggs with a plate of toast to the side. I walk over to the fridge and pull out the almost empty apple juice container that I bought literally 2 days ago. Mom's allergic to apples so it must have been dad. Grabbing a glass cup from the closest cabinet I pour the rest of my container out and flatten the bottle against the counter and my hip while twisting the cap back on. That was probably one of the first things I remember learning when I was younger that really stuck. So the container doesn't take up a lot of space in the trash.

The smell of burnt eggs quickly fills my nose and I snap my head over to the stove and see mom on her phone leaning against the counter. "Mom!? Hello the eggs?" She meets my eyes with absolutely zero urgency before moving back towards the pan and scraping the burnt mess. Rolling my eyes at her obliviousness I chug down the last of my juice before grabbing my keys and throwing my beat up converses on. I don't say bye to mom before leaving and just walk out the house to my car and pulling out of our gravel driveway.

I get to school with 5 minutes to spare before the final bell rings. Already had gotten spammed with calls from Iverson and Bonnie I explained I would be a little late and going straight to class and to not wait around for me.

Walking into first period I'm scrolling through instagram seeing multiple stories from the party last night kind of regretting going at all. I don't look over at Chris not ready to confront that issue this early. That's a later Kiara problem.
