Team Pack: Jet the Buizel

Chapter 2

"Hey Shadow! Have you seen Swift or Lavender anywhere?"

Shadow blinked and looked up to see Lightning and Jet racing towards him.

"Uh no? No I haven't, why? Is there something wrong?" he asked the two Team Pack members as he patted up to meet them.

Lightning and Jet glanced to one another with a nervous expression.

"Ok what's going on you two? Why are you acting so weird?" Shadow questioned, his red eyes narrowing suspiciously as he stared down at Lightning and Jet.

"What's going on out here?" the three Pokémon jumped and spun around to see the rest of Team Eevee and Team Pack, as well as the two Team Steel members standing only a few feet away.

Well, all of the Team Pack members except for Lavender and Swift, that is.

"Oh, um, we were just looking for Swift and Lavender," Lightning explained to the watching Pokémon with a nervous smile.

"You can't find them?" Ruby asked, blinking and narrowing her eyes in thought.

Lightning nodded his head and looked up at Ruby with a worried frown. "Do you guys know what Swift and Lavender have been hiding?"

At that question, everyone froze and turned to stare at the Team Pack leader with wide eyes and gaping jaws.

"Um Lightning? What on earth are you talking about?" Coral was the first to regain her bearings. "Is there something they know that we don't?"

Lightning sighed and flattened his ears. "That's exactly what Jet and I want to know."

"I'll go look for them!" Brownie offered with a flick of her tail.

"Ok then, you go do that and we'll wait here until you get back." Shadow told her and Brownie turned and raced into the forest.

Much to Brownie's delight, it didn't take her very long to find Swift and Lavender.

"Hey!" she called up to the treetops. "Everyone's wondering where you two have been!"

At her voice, the two Pokémon came down from the tree that they had been in and looked at each other with nervous glances.

"Now that you've come down, we should head back to camp," Brownie told them with a flick of her ears in the direction of camp.

"Good job Brownie!" Coral shouted once the three Pokémon came into view.

"So what were you and Lavender talking about?" Frost asked them once they had joined the rest of the group.

Swift and Lavender glanced to each other than back at the others.

"You should tell them Swi," Lavender whispered into her ear.

Swift sighed in defeat and told them what had happened during the battle with Midnight.

"You fought against the evolution?" Leafblade squeaked, her eyes going wide and her ears going straight up in alarm.

"Yes, yes I did," Swift told her with a sheepish expression forming on her face. "I don't want to evolve."
