22:37: I'm free tomorrow, Gustav texted me.
Finally. Ever since he got famous with his song 'durch den Monsun', he barely has time for anything else but his career. Gustav has been my best friend ever since we were 5 or 6 years old. But our friendship has changed a lot ever since he started getting famous. I mean I can't blame him, he's THE Gustav Schäfer, member of THE band Tokio Hotel. Every day he has something else going on with the boys. Marketing, photoshoots, rehearsals, interviews, concerts and so much more, making it very hard for him to find the time to hang out with his friends and family.
Everyone was talking about those four boys, the "emo" one with the weird hair, his twin with the dreadlocks and the extremely baggy clothes, and "the G's".
Just like every other teenage girl, I loved the band too. You could've called me a "fan girl" but honestly their looks didn't matter to me. I loved them for their songs and personalities. I actually didn't know the other three personally, but Gustav told me a lot about them (when he had the time to even pick up his phone).
My walls were full of posters and pictures, my shelves covered in albums and CD's and my wardrobe full of merch. What I think made it special was that most of the posters and pictures were signed and some of the "merch" was actually clothes the band members had used before. Not in a creepy way tho, just some caps, jackets and jewellery they've used.
My biggest dream was meeting all of them personally . Fun fact: even tho my best friend was Gustav, my favorite band member was Tom. I just loved his style and I played the guitar too, so he did inspire me. I still loved Gustav tho, but the drums have never really been my thing.
22:38: Ooh, great! Do you want to hang out? , I replied beyond excited.
I was shocked when he started typing right after I sent the message, because I usually get left on delivered for days.
22:40: Of course I do, I'll come pick you up at 10, but don't forget to cover up.. (- Gustav
22:42: Yeah I know, and I won't let anyone follow me. See? I still remember from last time (-Alix
22:45: Well you better if you don't want to see your face everywhere on the news (- Gustav
22:47: Fine. See you tomorrow!, I replied and let my phone fall on my chest.
Being friends with a celebrity really isn't easy. You have to cover up whenever you get close to them, or else you'll see your face on the newspaper with titles like "— 's new girlfriend?" and more stupid shit. Paparazzis are very scary. They'll find you anywhere and inspect your every move . If you do one thing wrong, the whole world will know in just 24 hours. And if you try to do anything about it, you'll get hate. The police doesn't even care. I know all of this from Gustav. The poor boy can't even drive around with his chauffeur without at least 2 security guards.
I took a shower and got into my Pyjamas. I was exhausted from the day and decided to sleep early. I picked up my phone, replied to Gustav's good night text, plugged my phone into the charger and left it on my night table. I kept wondering where Gustav would take me. It would be the first time I had seen him in over two months, so I was very excited, but also kind of nervous for some reason.
