Chapter 20

Victor was driving up the hill already, he was in his costume already, and his costume was a dark red Victorian tailcoat with sliver spiral trim, under it he wore a black sliver-button-up vest with a black long-sleeve collar shirt under it. His pants were formal black pants, with black formal shoes on his feet.

Ahmed was driving behind him, he was an all-black Victorian tailcoat with a slit, and he with a white vest underneath with a formal collar white long-sleeve shirt. His pant was formal black pants with formal black dress shoes.

Victor sighed at the thought of finally being done with work and finally enjoying time to spend with his family and Kate. He and Ahmed drove up the hill and finally made it to the house he and Ahmed parked their cars in the driveway.

Once they got out of their cars they could hear the music from outside. Victor and Ahmed walked to the stairs, Victor stopped for a moment, staring at the front door. Ahmed grows concerned for him.

"Victor, are you alright?"

"I..I'm fine"

"Alright come on."

Ahmed and Victor walked up the stairs and through the doors. A few people were in the hallway talking but were surprised to see Victor. He ignored them and kept walking to the ballroom. When he walked in people were dancing, drinking wine, socially. He spotted Penelope who was still talking to Andrew. Ahmed spoke to Victor.

"I'm gonna go get a drink."

Ahmed walks away from him, Victor walks to Penelope and Andrew, he sees Andrew is angry at Penelope and overhears him.

"How could you spill wine on her, you ruined her outfit!"

"It was an accident how was I supposed to know that was gonna happen?!"

"We all know you do that on purpose!"

Victor interrupted them.

"Who did Penelope spill wine on?"

Penelope and Andrew turned to Victor and Andrew told him about what Penelope did.

"Your sister spilled wine on Kate's outfit."

Victor was shocked by this, he turned his head and was about to say something about this but got interrupted by Brianna and Arianna.

"Victor?"

Victor turned to his sisters.

"Yes."

"Sophie is ready to be announced"

Victor sighed, and he turned back to Penelope.

"I'll deal with you later."

Penelope rolled her eyes and crossed her arms around them. He turned back to his sisters.

"Alright let's do this."

Victor clapped his hands to get all of the guest's attention. The music stopped, all eyes were on Victor.

"I want to thank you for joining us all to celebrate my daughter's birthday. It seemed not that long ago that she was a tiny little one but now she has grown into a young little lady."

Victor notices a shadow coming from the hallway. He knew it had to be Sophie.

"Now it gives me great pleasure to introduce my daughter Sophie Michaelis."

Victor extended out his hand to guide all the guests' eyes to the entrance. They all saw Sophie wearing the costume she picked out at the Halloween store. Her hair was curled up into an updo ponytail with little side bangs and strands of her hair sticking out. On her head was a golden leaves crown with little diamonds on it. Sophie truly looked like a little goddess.
