Jessica's pov:
I woke up earlier than expected - around 4:20. Taeyeon was still sleeping peacefully in our hug. I could see her face from the moonlight. I grabbed my phone and took a photo of the sleeping midget. When else would I see her looking so calm? Then, after playing with her hair a bit, I broke our hug and went to the kitchen.
Today's shooting was actually pretty important. It was for MusicBank. My manager came up with an idea to have an initial video that kind of teleports me on the stage later, and then I start singing. I didn't know what the video would be yet. At least I knew that they won't force me to dance and sweat. Thank you, Jesus!I opened the fridge and took some eggs. I was thinking of making Taeyeon a breakfast like she did yesterday for me...well...I kind of forced her, but that's another topic. I grabbed my phone and started looking for recipes for the breakfast I wanted to make:
,,How to cook scrambled eggs''
I wasn't joking when I said that I couldn't cook...
,,Whisk eggs, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Melt butter in non-stick skillet over medium heat."
- Okay...that isn't so hard! But wait...what type of bowl should I use? I have a wooden bowl, metal bowl, porcelain bowl, clay bowl....wooden bowl should be fine! Or no...maybe clay bowl! Or no...wooden bowl was just fine! Yeah, I will go with wooden bowl!,,Pour in egg mixture and reduce heat to medium-low. As eggs begin to set, gently move spatula across the bottom and side of the skillet to form large, soft curds."
- Pour in where? I guess in pan, but what type of pan?! Fry pan, saute pan, french skillet pan....why don't they write these things as well, they a pretty important! I will just use fry pan!,,Cook until eggs are thickened and no visible liquid egg remains, but the eggs are not dry."
- But my eggs look dry and brown. Are they supposed to look so brown? I...THE PAN IS BURNING, OMG!
I grabbed the nearest tower and hitted the pan once, twice, thrice - until it stopped. Eventually, the fire stopped. I can't believe that I can't cook scrambled eggs.Taeyeon's pov:
I woke up around half past five am. Jessica wasn't in the bed like yesterday. I could smell something...um.....something burning? I immediately ran to the kitchen to see Jessica, holding a half burned pan, with eggs on her pajama and black pepper on her cheeks.
- Good morning, the breakfast is ready! - she said with a half smile and revealed me the food in the pan.
- Sooyeon-na... - I said and I couldn't keep my laugh in anymore. I burst out laughing. Jessica joined me as well.
- What happened? - I asked while still holding the chair so I couldn't fall from laughing.
- Well...the person who wrote the recipe is really dumb. First of all, they didn't tell me in what type of bowl should I put the eggs. Wooden bowl, metal bowl, clay bowl - nothing of this information! I also sneezed in the paper pack because it was tickling my nose, and now I threw probably 500g of pepper in the trash! After that, I had to pour the liquid into a pan, but again, I didn't know what type of pan, because they forgot to write it! When I left the eggs in the fry pan, they became so brown and dry and then...
- Then?
- Suddenly, the pan was on fire!
- Aigoooo... you can't even cook some scrambled eggs! - I said and went closer to the disappointed idol. I took the small tower from her hand and started cleaning her face. She was looking like a chimney sweep.
- But I managed to do the eggs, won't you try? - Jessica said and then made puppy eyes. I looked into the half-burned eggs and then into her full of hope eyes, then again into the eggs and then again into her eyes. I hate to admit it, but the eyes won.
I sat on the table and waited for my...my eggs. Jessica grabbed a porcelain plate from the cabinet and put it in front of me. She poured the eggs into it and looked at me again, waiting for me to try.
I had to stay positive. They didn't look...so bad...I mean she can't cook and who can't make scrambled eggs? Yeah, I shouldn't judge the book by its cover. And as I can see she used so much effort in them, my mother says that if we put enough effort and love in the things we do, everything is possible so why would this eggs poison me? I mean...
- You don't have to try them if you don't want to... - Jessica said quietly from the other side of the table. I didn't realize that I was staring into the eggs for five long quiet minutes. I grabbed the fork and smiled.
- Of course that I want to! - I said and glazed at her. She gave me a small smile and then looked at me with the same look, waiting for my approval reaction.
I poked one of the eggs and brought it to my mouth.
