Hawks collapsed onto his bed with a heavy sigh, his exhaustion evident in the way his body sank into the mattress. Today had been a demanding ordeal. In order to earn the League's trust, he had to journey to Kyushu and deceive Best Jeanist's demise—pretending, of course.
As the weight of the day settled upon him, waves of nausea surged through Hawks, sending him scrambling to the bathroom. "I thought morning sickness was supposed to be confined to the mornings," he grumbled inwardly, hunched over the toilet in discomfort.
"Hey, birdie, you in here?" The raspy voice of Dabi echoed through the apartment, catching Hawks off guard. He had forgotten to close the balcony door.
Dabi appeared in the bathroom doorway, concern etched onto his features as he watched Hawks retch. "Is that why you rushed off after our meeting?" Dabi's tone softened as he knelt beside Hawks, offering a soothing hand on his back. "You sounded fine on the phone earlier. And you said it was just a stomach bug, but you've been like this for the past... what, two months? You really need to see a doctor."
A flirtatious grin played across Hawks' lips as he leaned back against the bathtub. "Worried about me, hot stuff?" he teased, arching an eyebrow.
Dabi's response was immediate, a firm "Shut up," tinged with genuine concern. "And this nausea isn't the only thing I've noticed. Last week, you turned down my fried chicken! You, of all people, refused fried chicken!"
Hawks opened his mouth to protest, but fatigue washed over him suddenly, leaving him too drained to argue. With a weak mumble, he admitted, "It's supposed to get better next month... usually." His eyelids drooped shut, and he let out a light snore, succumbing to sleep.
Dabi stared at him in bewilderment for a moment before shaking his head, a mixture of confusion and concern evident in his expression. Silently, he scooped Hawks up in his arms, carrying him back to bed. Tenderly, he tucked him in and pressed a soft kiss to his forehead.
"Sleep well, my songbird," Dabi whispered before extinguishing the lights and slipping out of the room, leaving Hawks to rest.
U.A. High School (Friday)
Setsuko groaned as she silenced her blaring alarm, signaling the start of another day. Grudgingly, she prepared herself for the day ahead and joined her cousins and uncles in the hallway.
"Good morning, Setsuko!" Midoriya greeted her cheerfully, while Shoto offered a nod of acknowledgment.
"Morning..." Setsuko mumbled back, her expression already displaying irritation.
"Hey, cheer up, cousin! It's Christmas!" Itsuki chirped, bumping into her with a grin mirroring Midoriya's. Setsuko responded by giving her a shove.
"Yeah, tonight after classes, we're having a Christmas party! Mina is organizing it, and Momo said she'll create matching outfits and hats for everyone," Midoriya explained as they made their way downstairs.
"Talking about the Christmas party?" Kirishima interjected from his spot at the kitchen counter, munching on his breakfast.
"Yes! Will Kacchan cook?" Midoriya inquired.
Kirishima nodded as Bakugou shouted angrily from the kitchen, "Not for you, Nerd!"
"Don't worry, he'll cook for everyone!" Kirishima assured, shooting Bakugou a pleading look. "Isn't that right, Kats?"
"Fucking whatever..." Bakugou grumbled.
As the elevator chimed, Hikki, Kazumi, and Kaminari emerged, exchanging greetings before heading to class.
"Class, I have an announcement," Aizawa began, capturing the attention of the students.
The time travelers listened intently, their hopes perhaps dashed as they awaited news of returning home.
