"They seem to be enjoying themselves." Toneri appeared at Yuriko's side, his arms folded as he watched Hinata and Sasuke play around in the rain. "I'm glad that they've found each other once more." He smiled fondly, "somehow I feel as though I could have done more if I had known that Lady Uchiha was an orphan."
"Did you know her family?" Yuriko questioned, agreeing with his previous statement concerning her lady.
"Her father and I were sort of like friends." He turned to her, his smile never leaving his face. "I guess Hiashi must be very pleased that his daughter has found her own way and is happy. My regret will not disappear but I'm glad that his wishes have been fulfilled without me having to play the cards he would have."
"I see." She hummed.
They remained standing there, observing the couple without intervening; they knew that there would be no use in trying to stop them.
By the time the carriage arrived, Sasuke and Hinata were still drenched in rain water with quivering lips. Yuriko shook her head and ushered them into a room so they could at least change instead of travelling in wet clothes. Of course, she made sure to reprimand them as she handed them their clothes, she made it very well known that she was disappointed in them.
Hinata couldn't stop touching him gently, as if to make sure that he was real, as they changed. Sasuke didn't seem to mind, he found the gesture a little bit adorable, so whenever he caught her, he would pull her in for a short kiss.
Once they joined Yuriko back outside, their things were already loaded into a carriage.
"We must really thank you for hosting us for the month." Hinata bowed as she thanked Toneri.
The man laughed loudly before sighing. "It's my pleasure. Please send the Emperor, and your adoptive family my gratitude for trusting me to take care of you two." He bowed as well. "Travel safely."
Hinata turned to Sasuke, nodding slightly as she followed Yuriko to her carriage.
"Will you be present at the wedding ceremony?" Sasuke asked.
"It would be rude of me to decline an invitation if I am sent one. But if I do not show up, I'm sure that you understand what that means. Will you convey such information to your father?" Toneri avoided his gaze, his thoughts clouded as he tried to remain calm.
"I will let my father know that the Ōtsutsuki will no longer be available for the time being, but I expect some form of communication once your family has settled well. Understood?"
"Yes, Lord Uchiha. I must say, you will make a wonderful Emperor, and I'm sure she will make a great Empress. My congratulations to you both once again."
Sasuke nodded. "I will see you someday." He excused himself and walked away.
Toneri bowed once more, listening to the sound of horses neighing before the carriages began departing. He stood up straight once the noise was completely drowned out by the sound of thunder. His eyes narrowed slightly, his hand raised in a silent wave.
Now that he was alone, he had a lot of packing he needed to do. There was someone waiting for him, and he had to share the good news about Hyūga Hinata. Only the gods knew how much his guest awaited to hear about the young girl who had grown into a fine woman.

It was extremely sunny the day they arrived back at the Palace. Hinata squinted as she moved the curtains to the side to see where exactly they were. Sasuke had not woken her up like he promised simply because he had yet to wake up. She raised her head from his shoulder and groaned at the stiff feeling in her neck.
