Tessa

It's already the middle of the semester and it's already hard to stay in Hardin's class. Especially when Mr. Vance has something to do and Hardin tells us about literature. I'm not paying attention to this class because it's hard for me to focus and I'm thinking to change this subject. The idea is that I can't forget Hardin and I'm falling for me. And it's not good.

"And that's all for this week. Don't forget to bring your essays next Friday! Have a good weekend." Thank God the week is over and I won't see him for a few days. I take my bag and I walk to the door, stopping in my tracks when I hear him calling my name. Shit. "Tessa, will you wait for a while? I want to talk something with you."

"Yeah, sure." I walk to him and when everyone is gone, he starts to talk.

"What happened to you? You are so absent in my classes, and I wanted to know what's wrong."

"I don't like this subject. I think I will change this. I'm not interested in English Literature anymore."

"You're lying."

"No, I'm not lying professor Scott. I've read a lot about French Literature and I think I will go with this."

"What's wrong, Tessa? You can tell me."

"Nothing, I swear. Can I go? I have something to do right now."

"Tessa..."

"I'm sorry. Have a good day, professor! Bye!" I want to leave, but he takes my hand and now we're staying close to each other. Fuck! Why is he doing this? "What do you want Hardin?" I say with a low voice. I can't say anything because I know I will cry.

"Tessa..."

"Leave me alone, Hardin. Please. I can't do this anymore."

"What? What can't you do anymore?"

"To live like this. I can't see you every day and in the same time to be in love with you, when we can't be together." I shouldn't have said that.

"You what?"

"Nothing. I'm sorry. Forget what I said. I have to go." I move away and I can finally leave.

What's wrong with me? Why did I said that? Why I was so stupid to tell him what I feel? How I will got to his classes from now on? Ugh! Why my life has to be so complicated?

I leave the building and I got to my car. I drive home before he can come after me. As I enter in the house, I see a few luggage in the living room. What's happening?

"Mom? What are these?"

"Your father is leaving. We finally decided it's time to end this game we play and to get a divorce."

"Okay. It's good." I sit next to her and I hug her. "I'm glad you two decided to wear like adults and to take this good decision."

"Yeah..."

Richard: "I'm ready to leave."

Tessa: "Daddy..." I get up and I go to hug him. "It's the best decision you two could ever make."

Richard: "I know. I'm sorry for make you suffer."

Tessa: "I'm okay. Where you will stay?"

Richard: "I'll rent an apartment in town, don't worry for me."

Tessa: "Call me as soon as you are settled, okay?"

Richard: "I promise." He kisses my forehead and he leaves.

After he left, me and mom prepared dinner and we had our first dinner without fights and screams.

"What's bothering you, darling?"
