Chapter 10

Hardin

Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! How stupid I can be!? Why I said all that bullshit to her?

I hear the door and I hope I'll see her, but now, it's not her. It's my fucking brother.

"Hello brother. Troubles in paradise?" He smirks and I want to hit him.

"Fuck off."

"So now I know why you didn't gave me an advice about her, because she was your girl. Why? You are a big liar! And you are in trouble, Hardin. I will go to the dean of the university and I will tell him about you affair with your student. I think you lost her and you will lose your job. Enough satisfy for me."

"Do this and you're dead." I prepare my fist to punch him.

"You can't stop me, professor Hardin Scott. You are in shit and you will not get out without a punish."

"Fuck off, little shit!" I hit his face.

"You know I will use this against you even if you're my brother. Half brother."

"If you don't go now, I'll kill you." I say trying to keep my anger in. "Now, Trevor! I don't fucking care about what you will say to the dean, but let Tessa alone."

"Well, now that I know she's single, I'll do anything to make her mine. Bye, bye ex-professor Scott." He leaves and I take the lamp and I hit it to the wall. I fucked up and I can't do anything good. Fuck!

I just lost everything I had good in my life: Tessa. Why I was an asshole?! Why I didn't tell her about Jules and... fuck. In this moment I don't fucking care about my job at the university. All I want is to have Tessa back, or at least I want to explain her what's the thing with Jules. I hope I'll have the chance to talk with her. And I hope she will listen me.

Tessa

I don't fucking care about the fact that Trevor saw me in his brother's apartment. Everything hurts. How he was able to keep something like this away from me. I started to develop feelings for him, but now... Everything is in vain. He has a kid and he didn't tell me. And this is something I can't forget. I'll change my class and I'm going to avoid him. It's for the best.

I take out my phone and I call Nora. I need my bestie right now.

Phone call

"Nora?" I say and my voice almost cracks.

"Tessa? Is everything alright?"

"May... May I come to your place? I... I broke up with Hardin..."

"Of course! I'm waiting for you."

"Thank you."

I arrive at Nora's place and she hugs me as soon as I get inside. I burst in tears and she gently rubs my back.

"Shhh... everything will be alright. You're going to move on." We move to the couch and Nora leaves to make me some tea, then she's back. "What happened?"

"I had a class with him this morning. And it was first time seeing him after he's journey to London. When I got in class, he was with this woman... She flirted with him. He even let her to call him babe and to kiss his cheek. I got jealous and I ignored him for the rest of the day. I wanted to piss him and I sent him a picture with me wearing a sexy dress. He got angry and he made me go to his place. And he told me the truth about that woman. They have a kid together."

"What?!"

"Yeah..." I wipe my cheeks. "They have a kid together. If he would have told me from the beginning that he has a child, maybe the things were different now. He tried to explain me, but I didn't want to listen. I'm done with him."

"But what if you misunderstood everything?"

"I don't care. I don't want to get involved with him again. And besides that, his brother, Trevor, knows about us. Exactly when I left, he arrived at Hardin's place. So... I better back off before I have troubles at school. I don't want to be expelled."

"But you are falling for him, Tess..."

"I will forget everything. Now, let's end the subject here."

A few days later...

The day I was scared the most is here. It's Friday and I have my class with Hardin. I wanted to change subjects, but as it's the end of the semester, I couldn't do this. So, I have to face him for another three weeks. I enter in the class and I go to the back of the class, trying to not draw attention. At the end of the class, I hear a voice through the speaker.

"Student Theresa Young and professor Hardin Scott are called in the dean's office."

Shit. I fucked up. Trevor spilled everything and I'm going to be expelled. Shit. What I'm going to tell my mom? What I'm going to do if they expel me? I almost run out of the class, wishing Hardin to not catch me, but he catches me. Wonderful!

"Hey, stop running away from me." He grabs my arm, put I pull away.

"Don't touch me. We're in trouble and it's only your fault."

"We can tell them some lies and nothing will happen to us."

"I won't lie, Hardin. I will tell them I was just a game for you and I hope nothing bad will happen. So, please. Leave me alone!"

"Shut up and listen to me! If you would have listened me, none of this would happen."

"I don't want to listen you anymore, Hardin. We're done." I say and we arrive at the dean's office. He opens the door and we get inside. And I'm shocked to see who's the dean: Christian Vance.

Christian: "Hardin..."

Hardin: "Christian..." he rolls his eyes.

Christian: "What did you do this time?"

Hardin: "Nothing. Trevor is a liar." He sits on a chair like nothing happened. This man...

Trevor: "I'm telling lies?" He turns around. We're in a big trouble.

Hardin: "Christian, you know very well that Trevor is a liar. I know the university rules and I couldn't have a relationship with my student. She just needed some advice in her essays and I helped. It's nothing wrong." What should I say?

Tessa: "Yeah... Professor Scott is right. I just needed help with my essays." I play his game. I don't want to be expelled.

Trevor: "Tessa! Say the fucking truth!" he yells.

Tessa: "This is the truth, Trevor."

Hardin: "Now, that we cleared everything, can we leave?"

Christian: "Yeah. But I want you in my office after classes."

Hardin: "Alright. Have a good day, dear brother." He gets up and we leave.

"Why did you lie?"

"Be happy because we're free."

"How you think he'll believe Trevor?"

"Trevor lied all his life, so no one is believing him."

"Have a good day, professor Scott."

I don't let him say anything and I walk to my car. It's finally weekend and I'm free to do everything I want.
