Chapter 42

Hardin

As soon as I arrive home, I send a picture to my mother with her granddaughter, then I go to take a shower and I eat something. When I'm in our bedroom, I get a picture with Emery and I'm melting. I never thought that I would be a father, but I have to admit that this is fulfilling me. Tess and our little girl are everything to me and I will protect them with everything I have.

Phone call

"Hi, love. Everything is alright?"

"Hello. Yes. We're good. Don't worry."

"How are you?"

"I'm still exhausted, but I'm happy."

"How's our little girl?"

"Good. I just fed her."

"She's adorable."

"I know."

"I can't wait to bring you home."

"I can't wait to come home in our bed."

"I know, just a few days."

"Did you eat?"

"Yeah."

"Good."

"I think I'm going to install the swing in our living room."

"Go to sleep, babe. You are tired."

"I can't sleep. I will do it for our precious girl."

"Alright." She giggles. "Hardin, I have to hang up. They are going to take Emery to newborn room, so I can get some sleep."

"Alright. I will see you tomorrow."

"I love you."

"I love you."

I end the call with Tess and I go to install the baby's swing. When I'm done, I send a picture to Tess and I go to sleep.

Tessa

I wake up around 8am. I feel my breasts a little bit heavy, so I press the red button, so a nurse can come to bring me the baby.

"Yes?" She comes in my room.

"Can you bring my baby? My breasts feel heavy."

"Yes, we just wanted to give her formula, but we're taking her to you."

"Thank you."

While the nurse leaves, I check my phone and I see a picture from Hardin. He installed the baby swing and it looks good. He's so good... he's going to be an amazing father. I hear the door open and I expect to see the nurse with Emery, but it's Hardin with a big bouquet of flower.

"Goor morning, love." He comes to kiss me and I kiss him for long.

"I missed you."

"I missed you too. Where's the baby?"

"The nurse is bringing her soon."

"I can't wait to see her."

"Me too." I say and the nurse comes in with Emery and my heart is breaking for her. She's crying and I know that she's hungry.

Nurse: "Someone is really hungry." She let her in my arms and I uncover my breast, then I latch Emery, stopping her from crying. "You were born to be a mother, Tessa." She smiles. "I'll let you three alone. In case you need me, call me."

Tessa: "Thank you." I smile and she leaves. "Did you talk with your mother?" I ask as I gently rub Emery's little head covered with blonde hair.

"Yeah. She's coming here in two days. She wants to help us with the baby."
