DECEMBER 2000
𝕺N DECEMBER 2ND AT 9:32 P.M., a baby was found on Shin Yeo-Jeong's front steps. It was like any ordinary night where Yeo-Jeong was on her way home from visiting friends, after decisively seeking company from her solitariness.
Her solitude wasn't by choice as her children (who were all grown up) had left, embarking on their own journey of figuring out life. While her dear husband was long gone, parting ways with their small family much earlier than intended. All in all, that left Shin Yeo-Jeong in complete loneliness.
She figured it might've been a selfish request, but she wished her children would write to her more often as to help ease her feelings of despondency.
Stuck in her train of thoughts, Yeo-Jeong reaches the top step of her porch when she hears a sound that makes her pause. The noise was of an infant-like giggling, where she found the source of the sound to be coming from a fading viridescent bassinet that was set perfectly on her porch.
She gasps at the fact that if the baby didn't giggle, she could've trampled it. Letting out a string of curses, Yeo-Jeong squats down as to check on the baby.
Uncovering the cloth shielding the bassinet, she lays her eyes upon the sleeping child, who happens to be giggling in their sleep.
'Oh, what a beautiful child.' Yeo-Jeong smiled at the thought, picking up the child gently to get a good look at the child with what she likes the call her aging eyes.
The baby from what she can tell was less than a year old; from the height but as well as the fact when the baby opened its giggling mouth, there was no teeth.
