(A/N: alright here we go, seven or so chapters of SADNESS AND ANGST! I'm so excited fr)
The party wouldn't be on until Laney walked through the door, that was the arrangement.
But it was an hour past the time she was meant to be home, and Lenny was really worried.
She wasn't answering her phone either, and he could see Carrie getting anxious too.
Corey, Kin and Kon were worried too even if they acted like they weren't.
"Let's go see if she's still at the stage, might've got caught up talking with the owner," Carrie said, already getting her coat and car keys.
Lenny agreed and asked the others to stay behind in case she just turned up late.
She wasn't at the gig but Carrie then asked if her phone had location on.
Both of them felt pretty stupid that they hadn't tried that from the start.
"Okay...she's at the tunnel near the house, we should just walk there from here," Lenny said.
Carrie nodded. "Let me grab my secret weapon."
Her pepper spray from her glove compartment.
The two headed for the bridge, but it wasn't a nice sight that greeted them.
"Laney? Laney!?"
"No...no no no no! NO!"
"Oh god...oh fuck!"
The rest of the night was a blur.
Carrie phoned the police and through tears explained the situation.
Lenny couldn't look away, even if he knew the sight was going to haunt his every living moment for the rest of his life.
Who would do this?
"Corey, it's Carrie...we found her. I'm so sorry..."
She doesn't make any more calls after that, the cops can call their parents.
She sat next to Lenny and they cried.
