When Carrie came by the house the day after Laney and Lenny's birthday, she couldn't get in.

Neither of them were answering her messages so a surprise home visit was in order.

After yesterday's talks with Laney about her supposed time loop and dying thing, she was extra worried about the redhead.

So not hearing anything from them was a big worry already.

The hole in the middle of the front door that looked too much like a knife shape was another one.

Carrie went round the back and managed to get in that way.

"Laney!? Lenny!? This better not be a prank! I will kill both of-"

The irony of her words would hit her later.

At the front door that she couldn't get into, slouched against the door and keeping it from being opened...

Laney's dead body.

"Oh god...oh fuck! LENNY!"

'Not him too, please not him too, please...'

Carrie had never ran so fast up those stairs, to his room.

"Lenny, please tell me you just slept in..."

But unfortunately he was gone too, stabbed and left to bleed out.

'I should've stayed with her last night, with both of them...how did someone get in? Who the hell did this?'

"911, what's your emergency?"

"My friends have been killed, I came to check on them since I haven't heard from them and they're both dead."

'It's my fault, it's my fault, it's my fault, it's my fault...'

"Corey? It's Carrie, I...I'm so sorry."

She was told many times that it wasn't her fault but she didn't believe it.

She never would.

Not even when Laney and Lenny's killer was sentenced to death and she attended the execution.

It was justice but at the price of two of her best friend's lives.

Carrie would do anything, give anything, to go back and protect them.

Keep them alive.
