It was a bit before Vessel left; he just watched from afar as me and III talked and laughed with one another. I'm still trying to figure out his problem. "Did you notice anything off about Vessel?" I asked as I started taking my shirt off to enter the water.
III watched me and shook his head yes; I sighed and slid off my shorts, walking into the water. I swam over to him and then began to float around. "Do you think he is jealous?" I asked, interested in what his thoughts were on the situation.
He shrugged, looking over at me, "Does it matter?" I chuckled as I looked up at the sky. "I guess not, but I would rather not cause bad blood," I told him; he nodded at my response. He felt the same as I did, not wanting to cause a problem.
I felt movement around me as I closed my eyes; he came over and started floating with me. He put his head on my shoulder as I did the same with him; it was peacefully quiet, which was nice. We never get to enjoy ourselves. There is always someone who loves being loud.
"I think he might like you; you were the only person he talked about for a while after the incident," he said as he looked at my face. My eyebrows frowned as I shook my head. "I wonder why he would like me. It's not like I'm anything special," I said, almost laughing.
"Maybe he saw potential in you?" he said, almost as if he was questioning his words. I shrugged and kept my eyes closed, not wanting to look at him. "Do I look like I have potential? I am just some random person who ended up in an odd situation," I said quietly.
"You have potential; anyone with eyes can see that," he said as the words danced around my mind. What made anyone think that I had potential? I felt like I was always the oddball, and everyone stayed away from me for that reason.
Especially after my incident, I had never been around men. I felt very uncomfortable until I started going to therapy and working out my problems. Being here alone with a man half-naked doesn't bother me much anymore; plus, I know he is decent.
I was lost in thought as I heard some movement in the distance and some talking. My head snapped in that direction; it sounded like two guys walking and talking. I couldn't make out much of what they were saying, but the voices did sound familiar.
"III, that sounds like the guys that took me. I'm not sure, but it gives me those vibes," I said quietly, shivering at the thought of them being here. I thought we were out of harm's way; they moved us far enough away that they couldn't find us.
"I got the same feeling," he whispered, pulling me to the water's edge. He went to the part that had bushes covering enough of the water to where we could hide. The voices got louder and louder until we could hear the conversation but couldn't see them.
"I told you not to leave her alone, never know when she would wake up," one man said with an irritated tone while the other huffed at his words. "Maybe if you didn't talk so much, we would have still had her, we need to find her, or it's our ass," the other one said. My breath hitched at his words, saying they needed to find me or else.
III covered my mouth with his hand and held a finger to his lips, telling me to be quiet. I nodded as he dropped his hand quietly while I mouthed a sorry. We heard movement behind us as one of them sighed. "There is a bag over there; you think it might be hers?" one of them questioned.
"Do I look like I know? Go look at it; it might be, and if it is, then she is still around." you could hear one of them mumble something under their breath and hear a loud smack. "Don't mumble," one spat at the other.
"We need to leave," III whispered with a worried look. I nodded quickly; once we heard footsteps approaching the bag, we exited the water as quietly as possible. III struggled as I tried to pull him up; I finally got him out after what felt like forever.
"You're heavy," I mumbled to him; he chuckled before grabbing my arm and dragging me towards the woods. "Stay quiet and get onto my back," he said, kneeling before me; I tried getting onto his back but kept slipping. Finally, after a few failed attempts, he was able to keep me up.
Before I could say anything, he ran off into the woods; I hoped he knew where to go. It can never be a typical day with us; we are always on the move because of one thing or another. I wish we didn't have to worry about this and to be in an ordinary world where we could enjoy ourselves.
A small sigh left my lips as I leaned my forehead to the back of his head. "I wish we could have met in a normal world, where we could sit and enjoy a coffee or go out and get some drinks. But no, we are running away from some weirdos that want to steal me," I told him.
He patted my leg and sighed. "one day," he said as he tightened his grip on me and kept running. I closed my eyes, hoping to wake up in a cozy bed beside him without worrying.

Hi guys! I hope this is a bit better of a chapter than the one before. I'm still determining what I thought when I wrote the last one, but hopefully, this gets more traction. Anyway, I was still deciding where I wanted this story to go, but it would be a III story; at first, I would do a love triangle, but I find it more attractive in just III.
