Chapter 5:

I woke up next morning to the sound of Fireflies by Owl City. Niall's ringtone. Why did he have to call me at... 11.45 am! I decided to pick it up anyway...

"Hello.....?" I was tired.... Me and Amy stayed up almost all night and talked about that stupid lie.

"Melanie I tried calling you all night! Why didn't you pick up your phone?!?!" The sound was way to loud for my ears, so I had to take the phone away from my head. I told him to turn the volume down!

"It died, ok? I didn't notice before I went to bed, so that's when I put it to charge...." I lied. I turned off my phone after talking with George. I didn't want him to call again.

"I was getting worried..." It was like a whisper. I don't think he meant for me to hear it.

"Why did you call anyway?"

"Guess who I bumbed into last night." My eyes grew wide. The way he said it, as if I already knew. And I did. George. Of course... That's how he knew what I had told them! That's why he called last night. That's why both of them called last night... Why are they so interested in knowing what I do?! It's actually annoying... But I had to get out of this situation.

"Uhm I... Niall I have to go, I-... I have to wash the cat!" Then I hung up. I don't even have a cat! For crying out loud, Amy! This is all your fault! You got that damn sentence into my house! It's your excuse for eveything. "I-I have to wash the cat"... But she actually had a cat, so it's different...

I then look at the time again. 11.53. Once again I had a day off.

"Maybe I should go visit the orphanage today... It's been quite a while since I've been there..." I walked to the kitchen while talking to myself. Amy left early morning, since she had work. I don't know how she did it... I mean, stay up late and then go to work like nothing's wrong. Well she is an A person... I most definitely am not!

I took a box of cerial and poured milk over it. I can't cook. I don't mind doing it, but if you put me in a kitchen all by my self and expect food to come, you will be disappointed. I will just burn the kitchen down! So cerial was my usual breakfast.

After that I went back to my room to change. I looked in my closet and saw a loose black t-shirt shirt and some green shorts. I had to check if the weather was still well enough to put on shorts, so I went to the window. It was! The sun was shining, people outside were wearing almost nothing and still looked like they were sweating. I put the clothes on and found my jewelry box. I was in an Irish mood so I picked out my four leaf clover necklace, earrings and ring.

After putting on a little mascara and foundation and putting my hair in a high ponytail, I went to the hallway and put on my green Converse Allstar. My favourite pair of shoes, actually. I picked up my wallet and my keys and walked out in the streets of London. I had to take a bus to get to the orphanage, since it wasn't that close the mains streets of London, but hey I got there!

When I walked in the door, the only thing that could be heard was coming from the kitchen. I walked in there, just to talk with the nice lunch lady.

"Melanie! It's been such a long time since I've seen you! What have you been eating? You're so skinny! Have you been starving yourself?" She gave me a big bear hug before continuing making the lunch.
