Your mom sits down next to you and starts to talk slowly. “You’re right I won’t kick you out. I’m not going to leave you when your stepfather did, I couldn’t do that. And I know you try your best. But you have to learn about consequences. You can’t do everything you want, and stay up late doing homework. It’s not doing you any favors”. “I only want what’s best for you Haneul, I want you to succeed and have the best life” “I love you”

You mumble “I dont love you...” you said it very quiet

Your mom looks shocked to hear what you said “what did you just say?” She says with a shocked look on her face “Don’t ever say that to me” she says with a stern look. “I’m only trying to help you, why do you always act like this? I’ve done nothing to deserve this” she says.

“But you did... you married my stepfather and now leave me alone. I do not want to talk"

Your mom looks shocked “I never left you Haneul, I’m right here” she seems hurt by your words “I work so I can support us, and I married him because I love him, and I like you too” “you’re the one that never wants to talk to me, I don’t know why you always give me the cold shoulder” she says “you’re always giving me so much attitude”. Your mom hugs herself while looking at you “I can never do anything right can I?”

“You can just leave me alone now”

Your mom looks like her heart is breaking. She sighs and stands up “I don’t understand why you act like this around me. I love you” and then she leaves the room. You don’t respond to her words as you bury your head in your pillows, your thoughts racing, tears coming down your cheeks. You just wish she understood you.

You wake up early to go to school. Your eyes are red from crying, you didn’t get your assignment done, your mom doesn’t like you, and you don’t wanna go to school.

Your mom walks into your room with a neutral expression to check if you’re awake. She walks over to your bed and sits next to you “Haneul wake up, it’s time to go to school” she says with a calm voice.

“I know..thanks "mum"”

“You’re welcome sweetheart” she says “Do you have your homework done?” She asks you and then remembers her own comment last night “Nevermind, that’s not important right now. Just get ready for school, I’m not letting you skip school again. I’ll pack you a lunch and drive you to school okay?” She says softly.

“I can go to school alone, thanks anyway” You said it 'cause You were planning on skipping school

You get up to pick out clothes

Your mom looks at you confused “what are you talking about Haneul? You can’t skip school” she says sternly. “You can always come talk to me you know?” She says. “And if your stepbrothers are bullying you let me know and I’ll talk to them, I don’t care how rich they are”. Your mom seems to have calmed down and is trying to be understanding.

“I dont wanna skip class. It's just super childish when your mother takes you to school”

Your mom smiles at you “that’s good to hear” she says “Haneul, you’re my daughter. It’s my job and responsibility to take care of you. You don’t have to be so ashamed. All parents do the same.” She rubs your head. “Now let’s go, unless you want to be late” she finishes.

You roll your eyes “fine..”

Your mom sighs “you don’t even wanna spend time with me Haneul. It’s always the same. You look at me like you hate me so much.” She looks like she’s about to say more but stops herself. It’s obvious she just wants you to show affection towards her.

“okay cool..Can I eat something for breakfast now without you blabbing me all the time?"

Your mom looks shocked at your words “I’m not blabbing you, I’m having a conversation with you Haneul” she says. “Do you even want to know what I’m saying? You never listen to a single word I say”. She seems sad by your words.

“Then you're doing this convention alone”

Your mom sighs “you know what? I’m not driving you anymore” she tells you. “You can take the school shuttle from now on”. “And I don’t wanna cook you breakfast, you cook yourself and see how hard it is” she says before walking out of your room and shutting the door behind her.

"Okay better for my plan"

You put on some new clothes and take a backpack with some food and drink and open the window

You hear a car drive out of the driveway and look out the window to see your mom drive off. Your mind goes straight to the plan you just came up with. You wait a few minutes until you’re certain your mom is gone, then you go over to the front door and carefully lock it. You take your backpack and jump out the window.

“I don't know what to do now, but it will definitely be better than school. I just have to be where nobody is. especially where my stepbrothers are not.” You talked to yourself

You walk around the city, trying to find a place that is not crowded and has no people. After walking for some time you find a quiet forest park. You see a bench and decide to sit down and open your backpack, you pull out a granola bar and a water bottle and begin to eat.

Looks at my Phone “okay it's 8:25 am. I would normally have English now. My brothers are also at school, thanks god, so they can't catch me skipping”

You sit quietly eating your breakfast, enjoying the time you’re having by yourself. After finishing your food you look at your phone for a moment, suddenly, you notice two texts that you received from your brothers “You can’t hide forever Haneul, we’ll find you”. You look around scared, you thought your plan was working.

“W-what???...From where-..” You keep looking around

A few seconds later you hear someone calling you, “Haneul, are you in here?” You look around in shock and see your stepbrother Jungkook and his friend, standing outside of the forest. “I knew you were here you pathetic runaway” Jungkook smirks at you.

“I uhh...” You quickly grab your backpack and start running
