A Week After the 57th Expedition

Everyone was still mourning at HQ for the fallen soldiers. In the mess hall, everyone was too depressed to make laughter or enjoy their time off. How can they? When most of them witnesses their comrades being devoured or killed brutally.

Levi wasn't heard from, from what Scott told her, when he shrunk down to ant size to spy on him, he was sitting on his bed, hands clenched together and head tilted downward. Levi had a malicious look in his eyes, he was probably thinking of ways to murder the Female Titan.

(Y/n) didn't blame him. According to Loki, they passed by the dead bodies of Squad Levi, their deaths were gruesome in general. (Y/n) was glad the families could at least give their loved ones a proper burial. They deserve it after facing an untimely death.

Hange and Bruce were in her lab. When she found out Bruce was a scientist and extremely intelligent, she was thrilled to have found another scientist like herself. Which led them into the lab where they traded information, discussed titans, etc.

Scott was with Rocket, Groot was with the 104th cadets, Loki was busy.....doing Loki.

(Y/n) decided to head to Corporal Levi's room which was next to hers. She stood outside for a moment before barging in. Levi, who was sitting on his bed looked up in annoyance, but it slightly fell when his grey eyes found (Y/n).

She closed the door, both of them staring at each other in silence

"What are you doing, cadet? No one gave you permission to enter my room." Levi states, making her chuckle.

"I highly doubt permission matters to you. What the hell are you doing here? Are you still moping about your squad's death?" Levi scowled at her

"Tch. What would you know about moping? You haven't seen anyone die so how could you possibly know what I'm feeling? You're a cold blooded person if the deaths of our comrades didn't affect you!" He snapped, making her frown.

"Yea, I am a cold blooded person. You want to know why? Cause I've seen more death than you could ever imagine. After a while, you learn to hide it all away. The emotions, the feelings. It's better to remain indifferent." (Y/n) sat down next to him on the bed.

"Why do you say that?" Levi quietly asked

"....Before I was with the Avengers, I worked with Hydra. They were a bad organization, who experimented on people. Their goal was to create super soldiers with abilities, I was one of them. They brainwashed me, made me kill innocent people. I had a lot of red in my ledger, but Hydra controlled every move I made. They turned me into an emotionless killer," Levi looked at (Y/n), slightly shocked.

"Then the Avengers came and took me from that place, they taught me how to feel. I was glad that they did, but when we off saving the world, and people got hurt, I shut myself off because I didn't want their deaths on my conscience." (Y/n) turned to Levi, "I know you probably feel guilty that you weren't there to save your squad, but it comes with the job as scout, right? They knew that being a scout comes with many risks, the thought of dying any day was fixed into their minds. But they knew what they were getting into, which is why they chose to be scouts anyway. They believed in a better future for mankind. So don't feel guilty or think they died in vain, cause they didn't."

"Ya know, you try to save as many people as you can, but it doesn't always mean everyone." (Y/n) softly said. Levi looked at her in shock. He never really thought about it that way before.

As a scout, he always thought of trying to save lives from the titans, but when he couldn't he would feel guilty and blame himself. Why? Cause he was named Humanities Strongest, Humanities Hope. He always felt the lives of his comrades were dictated through his every decision. But (Y/n) is right, you can never know the outcome of anything.
