"Don't give her food for a few days," I sighed, "just water. Don't talk to her or anything, just let her think."

"Yes, Second," Dawn nodded curtly, casting one last look at Carrie as Butcher locked her cell leaving her inside.

I'd just tried to talk to her but she'd freaked out, thrashing and screaming and about an hour in, I'd had enough of listening to her. I had a pounding headache and I just wanted to head out to a cheap bar and have a drink with some junk food.

"I wonder how Chan is holding up with Echo," Baek-Hyun smiled slightly, "he's not nicest and she seemed to have a temper on her. I hope they didn't pull each other's hair out."

"Don't be surprised if they have," Kyung-Soo joined in, falling into step with us, his face slightly amused.

We made our way out of the prison, heading out into the hallway before going into the sitting area, all the while talking about random things that had happened in the week. That all stopped when we saw Chan-Yeol sitting on top of the couch rest, glaring at his blank phone screen.

Dawn frowned, glancing at us before turning back to his husband, "Angel? Is everything okay?"

Chan-Yeol looked away from his phone slowly, his eyes skimming over us like he wasn't sure we were there before he swallowed harshly, shaking his head. "He... he isn't human."

"What?" I took a step closer to him, "Who are you talking about? Why are you here? Where's Echo?"

He flinched at the mention of her name, gripping his phone tighter and looking down at it again, "He isn't human."

A boom of laughter stopped my interrogation from going further and we all turned to the basement door, watching as Ares came out of it, Jong-Dae and Jong-In behind him. He stopped laughing when he saw us, wiping his eyes dramatically, "When did you get here? You missed all the fun."

"Fun?" I narrowed my eyes, moving my body towards him, "What are you talking about? What did you do?"

Ares's smile dropped a knot and he mimicked my glare, "Cut the tone, remember who you're speaking to." He clicked his tongue right after before scoffing, "I only did what you were supposed to do. I left you an example to follow."
