"How's her conditon?" I asked promptly, the second my eyes met those of the doctor in the medical bay.

He sighed, his eyes rolling very slight, "You've asked me that every hour for the last 2 days and I keep giving you the same answer. Nothing has changed. Her wounds have scabbed over, they aren't injected and she's falling in and out of a fever dream."

"Has her temperature gone down at all?" I cast my eyes over Si-Yeon who lay on her stomach on the medical cot.

"It went down a little this morning," the doctor sighed, "but it's back to 38 degrees now. I'll try administer more fluids later and prescribe antibiotics for when she wakes up properly."

"She can't stay here any longer," I sighed, turning my away from her, "Ares is getting suspicious of her whereabouts."

"You can move her out of here today if you want, she's all bandaged up," the doctor shrugged, "just bring her back if her fever rises more, I'll try giving her an ice bath."

It had taken Ares two days to realise Echo hadn't died. It was only this morning he'd asked Ash where he'd dumped the body for him, only to find out that she was supposedly back in my room. He'd been quick to ask what kind of torture we'd continued for our pursuit of information but none of us had given him an answer.

There had been no more torture and I intended to keep it that way; a war or not, I wouldn't want an EXO member to suffer the way she had with us at the hands of the Mamushi.

"Oh," the doctor clicked his fingers, turning around to look for something, "she's been quite talkative lately. I think she's hallucinating from all the painkillers, either way, she's said some stuff, I wrote it dow—"

"Burn it," I stated him, offering him a slightly judging stare.

"Excuse me?" The doctor blinked in surprise, finding the notebook he'd been looking for.

"I said burn it," I repeated, purposely slowly, "or give it to me and I'll do it myself."

Any information that got back to Ares now would mean Si-Yeon's death. Her death would mean an announcement to the Mamushi and then, a retaliation on their part. That was a whole lot of shit I didn't want to deal with.
