Oscar's POV
Two weeks has passed already since the.... you know.
Rose and I were packing for the Australian Grand Prix, as we were staying at hers right now.
The Saudi Arabia Grand Prix, was shit for both of us.
I ended up being seventeenth, while she was fifteenth. It was a really shit season.
I know she didn't like being at Alpine, but to her luck, Pierre wasn't doing any better.
"Hey, baby." she hugged me from behind.
"Hi, darling. What's up?" I turned around to face her.
"I just wanted to say, thank you for putting up with me all the time." she smiles and I kiss her lips."Sun, I don't have to put up with you, you're not complicated." I whisper in her ear.
"You think?" she grinned and I nodded, kissing her forehead before turning around to pack some more things.I grabbed the clothes I folded, and put them in my suitcase.
I was still amazed by the fact, that Rose cleaned the whole house every single evening. It wasn't even funny how spotless it was.
After very long thirty minutes, we were packed and were ready to the airport.
Lando was coming with us, along with Max Fewtrell.
I think Max was a bit distant these weeks. It's a good thing he's coming with us, as we have a party ready on Sunday.
The ride to the airport was uncomfortably quiet and Rose was fiddling with her rings the whole time.
She was nervous about something.
"What if I won't make my mother proud, in heaven? What if I'll just be a disappointment to her?" she blurted out but grabbed her mouth when she said it all.
Lando looked at her worried.
"She could never be disappointed in you. Remember the time we got drunk as fuck, so we couldn't move a limb and police drive us to your house.
She was literally proud of us to refuse listening to the rules she gave us.She will always be proud of you, Rose. No matter where she is." he smiled at her and she nodded smiling back.
A hint of jealousy spread through my body. He was there with her. Not me.
She's mine, not his.
"We've arrived." the driver announced and we all stepped out of the car.
Max was quiet the whole time, looking down with his AirPods in. I was genuinely getting worried about him. And I barely even knew who he was.
I could see Rose giving him glances; she must see the tension on him too.
"What's up with Max?" I asked her, whispering in her air.
She just shrugged her shoulders and I could see off her face she was worried. There was really nothing special about the flight, just that we watched three movies and slept way too much. We are going to be so jet lagged.
---------
The plane just landed and I gently shook Rose to wake up.
"Wakey, wakey, Sunshine." I said in a singing voice and she mumbled something before opening her eyes.
"We're in Australia, baby." I whispered, so she wouldn't yell at for being too loud. I could understand the frustration of being woken up with yelling.
"Alredy?" she now fully woke up.
What does she mean "already"? I couldn't wait to get off this stupid plane.
"By the way... we're staying at my parent's house. I don't have my own place here." I said to her and she widened her eyes.
"What?! I have to meet your parents?!" she whispered yelled at me.
"Is that a bad thing?" I laugh nervously.
"No, of course not, I just... I don't have very pretty things to wear. And i'm not wearing makeup." she was overthinking everything again."Darling, calm down. They're going to love you." I calmed her down a bit with the words, but probably not much.
We got off the plane, and while Lando and Max took a taxi to their hotel, Rose and I were waiting for my dad to get here.
He wad being late, as always, but managed to pick us up.
He walked out of the car and, jokes set aside Rose started literally shaking.
I squeezed her hand twice before nodding at her with an "everything will be okay" expression.
"Hello, son. Hello, Miss. Russo." my dad greeted.
He always did that. Playing some mysterious guy, who is very polite and cold, but as soon as you get to know him, he's the biggest clown with the best dad jokes in the world.
"Hello, sir. You can call me Rose." she went to shake his hand and kindly smiled at him.
"We do hugs at this house." he laughed and wanted to pull her in a hug but she snatched away.
"Dad.... she has OCD. She doesn't like doing hugs with people. At least not with people she's not familiar with." I explained and she glared at me.
"Ah, sir it's okay. It's really not big deal. I'm sorry for... him." she quickly apologised and I snorted sarcastically.
"No, Rose. It's okay. I will respect your boundaries." he smiled at her and I could see tears forming in her eyes.
"Why are you crying, Sweetie?" he asks, laughing.
"Amm... my family." she hesitates.
"Oh, it's okay. Don't worry." he smiles. She looks at me, really happy.
"Okay, let's get home, huh. I'm hungry." I chuckle and they do too.
We put our bags into the trunk and both sit in the backseat, so Rose wouldn't be alone.
