"It was only two days ago when another female body was found in a bush. Her eyes in her mouth, the number 'xiv' engraved in her wrist....."
"Officer Burns," lieutenant Hastings sat down on a coffee table next to him." You seem to be enjoying your coffee."
Officer Burns, casually addressed as James, had been working for the Washington DC police department for as long as he could remember.
On his head sat a brown mane, a little shade with it too, the left side of it was entirely combed down and the front right combed a bit upwards. He had thin lined brows that sat above his grey sarcastic eyes. A straight nose not too flat not too pointy. His lips an attractive pink, a straight line jaw strong firm.
Broad shoulders, rock solid chest that led to his hard earned six packed stomach. His powerfully belt legs. He wasn't dull, no! Every part of him blended well to make a godsend Adonis.
An officer, but his features where way beyond his casual job. Look at him once and you'd think you're talking to some smart looking mafia king, look again he was an officer.
"I don't have much to do," he replied to Melissa Hastings.
A good friend of James, black short hair, brown eyes, pink flashy cheeks, nose and lips. A woman who was very tall but loved her height either way. A former police member at the NYPD, but got promoted in Washington.
"Good news, you now have something to do," she said laying down some papers catching James' attention.
"The serial killing?" He looked at her, his face showing his full curiosity. He wasn't on the case so why did she present it to him?
"James this issue is getting out of hand. Women are living in fear and for some reason Ambrose is losing it. As a female I understand our women as a police officer I understand the case is bigger than the captain," she explained and James was a hundred percent attentive." He won't agree to other people helping out but this isn't just about him. It's about the law and the state's safety. I need a lot of help and you're one of the officers I want to work with."
"And why me?"
"Because of your strong sense of justice," she replied.
"What a nice way to put it," he replied taking a sip of his coffee which was now getting cold.
Justice...anger....revenge...same thing just different words.
"Do you think you're capable?" Melissa asked.
There was silence as he read through the list of murders, the suspects and the victims. He came across a familiar name. The one that motivated him to do what he was being asked to do.
" Ever heard of God?" Melissa asked him reading his face."What?" He frowned.
"You know the father of all creation, the healer, Jesus Christ, all that Christian stuff."
He said nothing but stared at her wondering where she was going with everything.
"Ever read a bible?"
"What's your point?" He got fade up.
"Your job is to help induce justice and not take it upon yourself. That's for God."
Hope you like it so far..the first chapter isn't always the best😭😂
