[TW: Implied past suicide attempt.]
[Name]'s mouth fell agape, although no words left his lips as his mind stuttered to comprehend what Mey said.
Wei shúshu had a vision...?
"Thank goodness you're okay," Mey nearly began to ramble as she looked him over for any visible wounds. He remained still and complied when she moved his arm to further inspect him. "None of those nasty villains hurt you, right?"
[Name] was barely able to shake his head when Principal Nezu spoke up.
"Please take a seat, you two," he said with a gesture to the chairs in front of his desk. He wore a pleasant and polite smile, neither his expression nor his aura giving away his emotions. The detective—Tsukauchi, [Name] presumed—stood by the principal with his hat in his gloved hands, silently watching their interaction. They promptly obliged Principal Nezu and sat across from him, Mey occasionally stealing glances from [Name].
The [blonde, raven, etc.] swallowed thickly, his chest growing heavy as he waited for Nezu to say something, anything about what occurred in the USJ. Mey seemed to notice his unease because she reached over and held his hand, her thumb gently rubbing his knuckles in consolation.
"It's unfortunate that we meet under these circumstances," the detective said with an apologetic smile and bow. "I'm detective Tsukauchi. I've heard many wonderful things about you from your friends, Hua."
[Name] didn't respond.
"As I was explaining to your aunt, the League of Villains expressed their intentions to kill All Might and kidnap you. I've spoken to All Might and he said that a villain by the name of Shigaraki Tomura seemed to be after you. He also mentioned some pretty outrageous claims." The man pinned his hat under his arm and retrieved a notepad and pen from his coat pocket. "Do you mind if I ask for your side of the story?"
[Name] pursed his lips and felt Mey squeeze his hand in encouragement. He drew in a shaky breath and slowly started with, "I've never met him before today. I..."
"It's okay, take your time," Detective Tsukauchi reassured with an understanding smile. [Name] took several minutes before he spoke again, his voice quivering.
"I knew about the... exchange my parents had regarding me. But I don't—he—It wasn't... him."
He explained it all. From when his mother took him out of the house to when he inherited The Curse and momentarily died in the process. His memory of the events were blurry, but he knew that he killed at least five people when Rai awakened. Three were the men who drove his previously lifeless body to his house and two were his parents. Why they took him back was beyond his understanding, but he couldn't be bothered to go through the mental gymnastics to figure it out. In the end, he set his old house on fire and fled the scene before he was able to regain control of his body again.
[Name] still didn't know how Shigaraki knew all of this. And now a good handful of people know about it as well.
The three adults in the room were attentive the entire time he recounted his story. Details were vague at times, like when he explained how the unknown man forcefully gave him a Quirk and how he set his house ablaze. He also had to stop on multiple occasions because his voice began to break to the point where he didn't trust it anymore. Although he was reassured that it was perfectly fine for him to be emotional at a time like this, he refused to succumb and quietly wiped away the tears threatening to fall. It didn't matter to him that he was both physically and emotionally exhausted; he didn't want to break down in front of other people again. He wished to save what little shred of dignity he had left, even if it meant using up all of his remaining energy.
