Logan forgot how long weekdays were. Thursdays yielded about the same students as Tuesday did, so he did his best to drag his feet and get through. Roman had stayed the night and, surprisingly, Logan hadn't wanted to do a whole lot with him other than cuddle. Roman hadn't seemed to mind.

Roman. He was still shocked all this was happening with him. It had only been about two days since Patton had broken up with him, and he had no idea what would've been a good thing. Logan had never wanted to cheat on him, but a tiny little part of himself had always wanted Roman from the second they met. Patton was always worried, always a bit suspicious that there was someone else. Technically there wasn't, but there also was, and eventually it just got to be too much for his boyfriend. Ex boyfriend.

He was eating dinner when said ex boyfriend called him.

Logan almost didn't want to answer it. He was grading, it was technically office hours, and Patton was the one who broke up with him. Who was he to call like this?

"Hi," Logan said as he answered the phone.

"Hi." Patton's voice was small, almost shy. "Thank you for answering."

Logan sighed. He still loved Patton, he couldn't deny that. "Yeah. What do you need?"

"I wanted to say I'm sorry. Can– can I do that?"

"If you want to." Logan set down his pen and leaned back in his chair.

"Thank you. I just– I feel bad. I'm sorry, I know you were at work and it was a bad time, and I'm sorry I yelled." He hesitated, sniffling. Had he been crying? "I miss you."

Oh boy. This was going to be rough. "Are you trying to get back with me?"

"Maybe. I just feel really bad, and I miss you a lot, and I was just mad. I wanted to let you know that, and if you wanted to get back together, I'd like that."

Logan pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. "Patton…"

"I know, I know, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. This isn't fair to you. I'm just, I just– I just wanted to try. Forget it. Can I at least keep my stuff at your place? I'm staying with a friend right now, and I'm trying to find an apartment, but I just– I need to keep it there a little longer while I'm looking. I'm sorry."

"If you need a place to stay, you know we have a guest room. I still care about you, Patton, I'm not going to throw you out with nowhere to go." He felt a very soft pang in his chest.

There was a pause on the other end of the phone. "Really? Do you mean it?"

"Yeah, of course I mean it. Take your time, find a good place. Just let me know when you need to come over–"

"Tonight, please?"

Logan closed his eyes, chewing on his lip. "Yeah, okay," he said softly. "Tonight. I've got office hours and then grading, do you still have your key?"

"Yeah."

"Let yourself in. I can bring home dinner."

"Thank you." Patton sniffled again. "Logan?"

"Yes?"

"I love you."

Oh, God, what was he supposed to say to that? "No problem," he ended up mumbling. "I, uh, I've got stuff to work on. I'll see you later."
