~Wendy's P.O.V.~

I walked down one of the halls of the mall. I tried to keep a distance from Romeo, but not too far so that he notices I'm trying to stay away from him. Why did he have to be my partner? I whined in my head as my face heated up. My hands were gripping my blue skirt in nervousness as I looked down to the ground, watching my small feet step onto the tile floor.

"Are you okay Wendy?" I jump as I hear Romeo's worried voice.

"I-I'm fine," I nodded.

"You seem nervous though," Romeo frowned. Blood rushed to my face a little bit.

"I'm fine!" I insisted with the best smile I could manage. "Really!"

"I-if you say so.." Romeo said, looking away. I sighed with relief.

"This is getting pathetic to watch you know..?" Carla sweatdropped beside me. I jumped again.

"Why is everybody coming out of nowhere?" I cried.

"We're not, you're just more jumpy because you're younger now," Carla cocked her eyebrows. "Anyways, I'm just saying that you should atleast get closer to Romeo...unless you're scared?" My face flushed red.

"I-I-I'm not scared!" I stuttered shakily. "I-I just..."

"You like like him don't you?" Carla smiled knowingly.

"N-no!" Carla sighed and shook her head.

"Young love is so dense," she said. I blushed even more and twiddled my thumbs.

"It's not like....Romeo-kun could love me.." I muttered.

"Oh cheer up Wendy," Carla smiled. "You don't know that."

"I guess.." I sighed.

"Wuf wuf!" I slowly looked up at a sudden noise and my eyes widened.

"Puppies...!" I said in awe, a huge smile forming on my lips.

~Romeo's P.O.V.~

Looking down on the tiled floor, I sighed. Why did Dad have to leave me alone with Wendy-chan.. I cried in my head. I glanced over to Wendy, who had turned into an unbelievably cute child, cuter than before...

My face heated up in embarrassment at what I had just thought of and I mentally slapped myself. Don't think those thoughts Romeo!

"Puppies...!" Eh?

I turned around to see Wendy looking at a store with sparkling eyes and a broad grin.

"O-oi, Wendy.." Carla sweatdropped. "It's just a pet store."

"But those puppies are so cute!" she squealed, running over to the store.

"Hey wait, Wendy!" Carla sprouted her wings and tried to catch up to her.

"Oi, Wendy!" I sweatdropped as I too ran over to her. I skidded to a stop at the display window where it showed a litter of puppies playing with each other. Wendy was pressing her face against the glass, her big smile never faltering.

"Wendy, we should get going.." I urged, looking at the clock. It was about 2:35 and I was afraid that we wouldn't make it to the mall cafeteria before 3:00 since we walked a long distance.

"No, I want a puppy!" she puffed out her cheeks. Dang that's so cute.. I shook my head to get rid of the thoughts again.

"I don't have enough money though," I frowned. "I only brought like 500 jewels."

"This one is 500 jewels!" Wendy pointed to a puppy that had yellow fur with brown spots all over it. My eye twitched in slight annoyance.

"Well we can't take care of it though," I said in the most calm voice I could do.

"I can though!" Wendy pouted and crossed her arms. "I'll feed it, take it out on walks.." I silently groaned. Is this how Dad felt when I was this young?

"C'mon Wendy, let's start walking towards the cafeteria," I take ahold of her arm and try to pull her away from the display window.

"No, I want a puppy!" she whined, pulling her arm back.

"We can't get one though!" I said, frustration hinted in my tone.

"You're more mature than that child," Carla huffed, helping me to pull Wendy.

"Well I'm not moving until I get one!" Wendy said, trying even harder to get it if my grip. My eyebrows twitched.

"Okay, how 'bout I get you one later? For now we need to go meet up with the others," I bargained. Wendy's face lit up.

"Okay!" she chirped happily.

"Finally..." me and Carla sighed in relief.
