The Lone Rider

Flashback

"Courtney?" I asked in a small tone.

"Yeah, Bri?" She replied, turning her head from the computer to me.

"When is momma and daddy coming home?" I asked again.

Mommy and daddy had been gone a couple of days now, they said they would be home by Saturday.

It's Tuesday.

"I don't know, sis." She replies in a depressed tone, looking down at the floor.

We were staying with our grandparents until they came back from their honeymoon.

The door burst open, making me jump.

What came in was a very red grandma.

"Whoa," I said. "Grandma, you look like you just got off the toilet having your period!"

Of course, as a child, I had no idea what periods were. I had just heard them from Courtney. Screaming from the bathroom, complaining about the pain, all that stuff.

And whenever I went to the bathroom, it would see her bloody toilet paper and tube looking thing in the trash can.

"Take-pant-the-pant-phone-gasp" Grandma yelled as she threw the phone at Courtney.

"Ow!" Courtney shouted." What was that for!?"

"TAKE IT NOW!!!!" Grandma yelled at the top of her lungs.

"Okay, okay." Courtney said as she picked up the phone. "Hello?"

She pressed a button on the phone which supposedly got louder.

"Is this Courtney Jenkins?" The voice on the other end asked.

"Yes, it is." She replies."is there something I can help you with?"

"Mia and Jared Jenkins are.." The voice slowly replies.

"What?" She says as she shakes the phone. "What happened?!"

"I'm so sorry," the voice said. "Miss Jenkins, but, your parents have passed on the way back from France."

"What........" She replies with a shaken tone. "They're WHAT!?!"

"They've died." The voice replies.

She covers her face with her hand and throws the phone at me.

It hits me in the face, and then I cover my face with my hands and start to cry.

I look up only to see her running out of the house screaming.

"NO!!! NO!!! NOOOOO!!!!!" Courtney screams.

I start to feel a little dizzy, and see the world turning black.

Goodbye mommy.

Goodbye daddy.

I will always love you.

Goodbye life.

My mind was torn.

My heart was torn into billions of pieces.

Goodbye, forever.
