Leah's pov :-
...........................................................

The door swung shut behind me as I stepped out of the bar, leaving behind the warm embrace of its flickering lights and hushed conversations.A shiver coursed through me as the cool night air met my skin, a gentle reminder that certain things are inevitable....

Elena, draped in her elegant black dress, fell into step beside me..

"He recognized you," she remarked softly, her words carrying a weight that echoed within me.

I nodded, my thoughts a whirlwind of emotions that threatened to consume me.

"Yes" I said with a faint smile, "he didn't exactly recognize me. It was more like a fleeting sense of familiarity" Elena's eyes met mine, her expression thoughtful.

"Sometimes, the heart remembers what the mind may forget," she mused with her gazed fixed on mine

"Are you okay?" she inquired, genuine concern dancing in her voice. "Yeah, of course," I replied with a half-smile, attempting to mask the mix of emotions that swirled within me. "It's been quite a while since that incident happened."

I was just... taken aback, honestly, to see him after all this time..

She gave a gentle shrug. "You've always been one to hide your feelings. It's a habit you've had since childhood."

I literally can't hide from her .....

" I need to tread carefully," I admitted, my voice a mixture of determination and caution. "Dylan mustn't learn the truth. The walls I've built can't afford to crumble."

Elena's gaze held a knowing glint, a testament to the understanding born from her own experiences. "You know, Leah, it's not in ur control if he remembers."

Her words lingered like an ominous omen, a reminder that the carefully constructed barriers I had erected might eventually succumb to the relentless passage of time.

Yet she's right. Control is elusive. All I can do is hope that he doesn't recall...

I couldn't help but steal a glance back at the bar, its door now closed to the outside world. The encounter with Dylan had set a series of events into motion, igniting a fire that threatened to consume the fragile balance I had maintained..

The journey back home was accompanied by a familiar silence, one that allowes me to fight with my inner turmoil..

As we entered the comfort of our apartment, the atmosphere seemed to shift.

Alec was seated on the couch working on the computer placed at front. Time to get to work..

Dylan's reappearance changes nothing. My goal remains unchanged

I approach the couch and casually ask Alec, "How's everything?" He responds with a confident grin, "Is there a challenge I can't tackle?"

His excessive self-confidence is quite evident.

"Show me," I retort, taking a seat next to him on the couch. He turns the laptop my way, and I see an huge data loading...

Honestly, I could handle all of this on my own within no time, but Xavier hired Crimson for his security. I need to be careful, so I planted a specialized device in Elena's bracelet. She just needed to be close to Xavier for about 5 minutes, and the virus would be injected into his phone. In this way he could not trace back the origin of the virus

"Elena groaned, fatigue evident in her voice, as she slouched lazily onto the couch beside us. "Ugh, this is exhausting," she complained. "And he was such a jerk, he kept staring at my cleavage all the time" she added, a disgusted expression crossing her face.

"What? He had the audacity to ogle you?" Alec retorted with a sharp edge to his tone, anger flickering in his eyes. "I'm going to make him regret that," he declared, his determination palpable.

Elena raised an eyebrow and shot Alec a playful smirk. "Calm down, big guy. We're here for a purpose, remember? Let's focus on the task at hand."

I can't help but chuckle, they really make me feel better. But right now, I don't have time to deal with my feelings.

"Operation Investigation is in progress," I stated, my tone brisk and resolute. "Elena, you'll be deploying the virus through your bracelet. Alec, commence data mining."

Elena raised an eyebrow, a glimmer of curiosity in her eyes. "And what's my stoic leader's role in this grand scheme?"

I leaned back, my expression impassive. "I oversee the operation, ensuring every detail is executed precisely."

Alec smirked. "So, you're the maestro of this symphony?"

I brushed off his attempt at humor, my focus solely on the task at hand. "Our focus is on results, not theatrics."

Elena let out a mock sigh. "Alright, Director Serious, let's keep a bit of fun, shall we?"

My attention remained fixed on the monitors. "Efficiency and accuracy are paramount."

As they carried out their respective tasks, I monitored progress with meticulous attention, my mind a repository of organized information.

When Elena's device successfully injected the virus into Xavier's phone, I acknowledged it with a curt nod. "Phase one accomplished."

Alec's voice crackled through the speakers. "I've gained access to Xavier's digital footprint. It's a treasure trove of data."

"Carry on," I responded crisply. " Tell me inmediately if something seems strange "

"Leah, something's not right," Alec said, looking at the computer screen with a puzzled expression.

My heart quickens and I squinted at the screen, my brow furrowing slightly. The flicker was intermittent, almost like a glitch, but it didn't quite match the rhythmic pattern of the data processing. It was a small detail, easily dismissed as a harmless technical glitch.

No worries i can fix it...

After a few minutes , the data loaded and I took a look ...
