Dylan's pov:-
Ethan leaned closer, concern etched into his features, as his inquisitive eyes searched for any trace of progress in my weary expression.
I couldn't help but release a heavy sigh, my gaze momentarily drifting to the vacant chair where Leah had sat just moments ago. "It's complicated," I confessed, the weight of the situation pressing on me. "She's guarded, and there's something she's clearly not telling me."
His brow furrowed, leaning in further, his voice edged with seriousness. "You think she's hiding something important?"
I nodded slowly, my fingers absently tracing patterns on the condensation-covered glass. "Absolutely. This goes beyond a casual encounter. But every time I tried to dig deeper, she withdrew."
Ethan pondered for a moment, then suggested, "Maybe it's best to give her some space, let her come to you when she's ready."
"I suppose you might be right," I mused, raising my glass to my lips and taking a contemplative sip. "But given her earlier reaction, I'm starting to doubt if she'll ever truly open up."
A mischievous smirk curled at the corner of my lips as I drained the last drop of whiskey, setting the glass down with a deliberate clink.

"Anticipating a fruitful collaboration. Let's convene tomorrow to finalize and sign the contract." I concluded the virtual meeting, relief washing over me.
Now, let's see if you can continue to hide ,Leah
My father's voice beckoned me into his office. With a gentle push, the door swung open, revealing him engrossed in a sea of scattered files.
He looked up at me, curiosity in his eyes. "What's the news?"
I settled into a chair across from him, a sense of accomplishment swelling within me. "I've successfully arranged the investment agreement with Titan. Tomorrow, we'll seal the deal with the contract signing."
He leaned back, a proud grin spreading across his face. "That was swift, just as I expected."
I nodded, a confident demeanor enveloping me. "There's no challenge I can't handle."
I had been on the verge of sealing the deal at the Summer Ball when an unexpected distraction had thrown a wrench into my plans. I couldn't allow her to continue to disrupt my focus. I needed to find out more.

In the boardroom, I settled into my chair, clad in my trusty dark gray suit adorned with those distinctive blue cufflinks. On the opposing side, David Miller, the CEO of Titan, and his team occupied their seats. Miller, a man in his fifties with enigmatic eyes, was dressed in his customary imposing black suit, exuding an aura of authority that matched his position.
"Mr. Miller," I acknowledged with a brisk nod.
"Mr. Marco," he responded crisply, his unwavering gaze meeting mine.
I leaned forward, my fingers forming a steeple in front of me, a sign of my readiness and determination. "Shall we proceed with the discussions regarding the proposed merger, Mr. Miller?"
David Miller interlaced his fingers, leaning back with an air of confidence. "Indeed, Mr. Marco. Let's get straight to the point. Titan is interested in a strategic partnership that could greatly benefit both our companies. Our team has thoroughly reviewed the proposal, and we have a few crucial points we'd like to discuss."
