Chapter 19: Unleashed Jealousy
The college campus was abuzz with activity, students moving from class to class, absorbed in their own worlds. Azrael and Cassiel found themselves once again in the midst of their daily routine, but a subtle shift in the atmosphere hinted at something different—a storm of emotions brewing just beneath the surface.
It started innocently enough, with a group of students gathering near the college courtyard. Among them was a girl named Emily, known for her flirtatious nature. Her laughter echoed through the air as she chatted animatedly with a group of friends.
Cassiel's gaze zeroed in on Emily, her expression tightening with a mix of unease and discomfort. A growing sense of jealousy stirred within her, threatening to overshadow the sunny day. She glanced at Azrael, who was engrossed in conversation with a fellow classmate, seemingly unaware of Emily's presence.
Unable to quell her rising emotions, Cassiel took a deep breath and approached the group, her footsteps determined. As she reached Emily, her voice was icy but controlled. "Excuse me, Emily, can I have a word with you?"
Emily looked up, surprise flashing across her features. "Oh, hi Cassiel. Sure, what's up?"
Cassiel's tone remained measured, but her eyes held a steely resolve. "I've noticed your interactions with Azrael. I just want to make it clear that he's taken. He's mine, and I'm his. So, I'd appreciate it if you kept your distance."
Emily's eyes widened, her initial shock quickly giving way to embarrassment. Cassiel's straightforward approach had caught her off guard, and her friends exchanged awkward glances.
"I didn't mean any harm," Emily stammered, her cheeks turning a shade of pink. "I was just having fun."
Cassiel's expression softened just a fraction, her voice still firm. "I understand, but Azrael and I have a special relationship. I hope you can respect that."
Without waiting for a response, Cassiel turned on her heel and walked away, her heart racing with a mix of emotions. As she rejoined Azrael, he looked at her curiously. "Everything okay, Cassiel?"
Cassiel nodded, her gaze meeting his. "Yeah, everything's fine."
The incident seemed to ripple through the college campus, whispers and hushed conversations spreading like wildfire. By the end of the day, the news of Cassiel's assertive stance had reached everyone's ears, leaving no doubt that Azrael was taken and Cassiel was not one to be trifled with.
As they walked home together, Azrael couldn't help but chuckle. "You certainly made a statement today, Cassiel."
Cassiel's cheeks flushed, a mix of embarrassment and satisfaction washing over her. "I just wanted to make sure everyone knows where we stand. I don't want any misunderstandings."
Azrael's smile was warm and appreciative. "Well, there's no doubt now. You've made it clear that I'm yours and you're mine."
Cassiel's lips curved into a smile, her heart swelling with affection. "Exactly, Azrael. And I want the whole world to know."
Their laughter mingled with the sounds of the bustling street, a reflection of the bond they shared and the unbreakable connection that had stood the test of time and jealousy. As they walked side by side, hand in hand, Azrael and Cassiel knew that their love was a force to be reckoned with—a love that was not only deep and enduring but also fiercely protective and unyielding in its determination to keep their hearts intertwined, now and forever.
