The doctor was suddenly roused out of sleep. He was terrified. His adrenaline was in overdrive as he had a look around. He had no idea what had just happened.

Benjamin was tied to a chair in an unfamiliar room. It was dark, but he could see a stairwell opposite him. Trying to break free of the ropes was useless. As he struggled, all he did was burn his wrists. It was very uncomfortably tightened by whoever restrained him.

Benjamin's mind was filled with thoughts, and there was a very strong smell in the air that had him on the verge of vomiting. There was a slight metallic to it, along with a sort of rotting flesh with a fruity undertone.

It was weird, but he didn't dare think about it any further.

A few minutes passed and Benjamin would have been engulfed by silence. The door to the stairs was quickly unlocked. And Benjamin blinked at the sudden brightness.

There was a loud thud as someone hopped down the stairs and the lights came on instantly. It took Benjamin a minute to register anything in the light, but once his eyes adjusted, he found himself gazing at the man in front of him.

"Benny!" He chirped. "I'm so glad you're awake." With a smile on his face, Xylo skipped over to him.

"X-Xylo? Wha... how?" Benjamin had too much to think about to speak. But Xylo just gave his alarmed doctor a big smile.

"Shhh, it's okay. I'll do the explaining." Xylo pursed his lips and settled into Benjamin's lap before he continued. "Sooo, you probably wanna know how I got away, right?" The patient flung his arms around Benjamin's neck.

"How... the fire?" Benjamin was taken aback by Xylo's actions and how calm and collected he seemed.

"Ehh well... I might have started it, ha!" He chuckled nervously.

"You... WHAT?"

"No need to shout...it was just a building." Xylo pouted at his doctor's frightened face. He seemed unfazed that so many lives had been burned away in a flash.

Xylo went on to tell him how he managed to escape and how clever he was. Benjamin had more recollections of his patient's file. Before coming to Rose Garden, Xylo had been found in an abandoned house in the woods. The place was a mess of corpses. His favorite weapon was an axe. Not just any axe, a special one he named. Even though Benjamin did not know its name, he knew that nothing good could come from Xylo being out again.

He had been responsible for the deaths of more people than anyone could count, and now Benjamin was in his clutches.

"Xylo... where are we?" He was cautious in the words he spoke.

"Hmm? Ah, ha-ha!" Xylo giggled, raising a hand to meet the man's soft white hair.

"Oh, Benny, you have hair as beautiful as snow." He dodged the question, touching the man's hair and sniffing at his scent.

"Xylo, stop it." He pouted again at Benjamin's words, but reluctantly pulled away. He stared at Benjamin with puppy dog eyes, his large green eyes filled with sadness.

Tears formed in the corners of his eyes as he began to apologize. Benjamin's face was smothered by Xylo's black locks as he spoke.

Before depression overcame the boy, he sat up and a small smile played on his soft lips.

"Let's cook, Benny." He cooed, his big eyes shining all over the man he was sitting on.

The sudden change in mood had no effect on Benjamin.

"Untie me, Xylo." Even though he didn't like the feeling of Xylo sitting comfortably on his lap, he tried to be nice for the sake of his patient.

Xylo let out a soft hum as he looked down at his hands, which were tied tightly around the chair. He rose to his feet with an awkward nod.

"Sorry about that. You kept falling over while you slept, so I tied you up!" He said with a laugh.

Benjamin looked around the room as Xylo untied him. Although this part of the cellar was completely empty, Benjamin shuddered to think what might lie behind the door to the right.

When the tight knot was finally untied, Xylo led him up the stairs and out of the basement, leaving the stench of rotting flesh behind him.

He was taken to the kitchen. It was old and battered, but not as dirty as he had anticipated. Xylo must have cleaned it.

His icy blue eyes wandered to the refrigerator as Xylo opened it. All the food looked new and fresh. He tried to get his patient to slow down, but Xylo was in no mood. He continued to pull ingredients from the kitchen and set them down on the brown, cracked countertop.

"C'mon, Benny!" Xylo grabbed him by the wrist and pulled him forward. Benjamin looked down at Xylo's pale, freckled face.

"Xylo...where are we?" He asked once more. Xylo took a bowl from a drawer and replied quietly.

"A house." Benjamin's white brows furrowed, that was not the answer he had been looking for.

Xylo was in the middle of preparing lunch. He told Benjamin what to do, and despite his better judgment, the doctor did as he was told.

Xylo prepared chicken salad and Benjamin sliced rye bread. There was a long silence between them, and though Xylo found it peaceful, Benjamin was worried and regretful.
