Please don't kill me I know it's been months. Shit has happened and I have learned the hard way that promising a chapter I have not planned for (the specials) is a surefire way of killing off any inspiration I may have had. In any case, I'm back but school is starting at the end of the month soooooo...
ANYWAY! Please leave comments they're what I thrive on!
Vanilla grumbled under his breath as he trudged down the hall to the room Nox shared with the other spikey and violence-prone brothers. Nox had informed him that he was ready to 'repay his end of the deal' but Vanilla couldn't shake the feeling that this deal would be warped to be solely in Nox's favor. He would have to stay sharp for this conversation, but that was a daunting task for someone running on four hours of sleep and a few monster candies. At least the stress had only temporarily taken down his HOPE instead of permanently as it had done in the past. He had gone through the worse, so he could get through this.
Stopping at the door leading to the shared bedroom, Vanilla took a brief moment to observe the new scratch marks and paint that had only been peeling a little before but had been picked at insistently enough for the raw wood of the door to be revealed. He took a deep breath and knocked, only getting to two taps in before it swung open to reveal an ecstatic Nox. His grin looked more like he was bearing his fangs and the twinkle in his eye sent prickles along Vanilla's neck as he tensed up. Nox looked like a predator who had finally caught its prey, or more accurately, a madman ready to unleash his latest conniving scheme.
"I have fantastic news." he declared, and without any further warning Nox ushered his counterpart in and slammed the door closed.
The room was a mess and it was clear that the two pairs of brothers had made a clear distinction as to whose half of the room was whose. Even going as far as cleaving the bed in half and moving the two pieces to opposite sides of the room. The mattress leaking stuffing and springs jutting out at precarious angles.
However, none of this was quite as important as what Nox had pulled up on one of the few things not cleaved in half, the communal computer. He quickly shoved Vanilla into the heavily damaged wheely chair, that looked like it was about to be split in two before being saved by what little logic resided in this battlefield of a bedroom.
Pulled up on the screen was all of the research and planning Nox had prepared. All neatly complied into a clean slideshow.
"Now, we both know that we can't reasonably continue to thrive let alone support everyone in this household with that leech still attached to us." An image of the greasy realtor popped up on the screen, and some creative scribbles including devil horns and scribbled angry eyebrows, courtesy of Mutt, made it hard to clearly see the man's face.
"And as per our agreement for you 'allowing' me to question our mysterious guest, I have found a way to take care of our shared issue." Nox continues, not even blinking at the graffiti all over his once clean and pristine slideshow.
He flips to the next slide which houses an image of Jessie Williams beside a somewhat blurry picture of the human woman residing with them, and clips of the news articles pertaining to her disappearance and her parents' incarceration. Vanilla feels his intrigue spike as much as his guard is raised. Thanks to the colorful scribbles pointing out the differences between the two women Vanilla could see that this 'Jessie Williams' most likely meant that the human they currently had in their midst was an alternate. But at the same time, something in the back of Vanilla's mind told him this theory didn't sound right, didn't feel right, and that he shouldn't take it as the whole truth of the matter.
