***Liam's POV***

"Help?! Help! No one can help me Liam! I'm trapped in hell! No one can save me..." She said the last part quietly and started to cry. I put a hand on her shoulder and she shook it off and jumped out of the truck. Then she ran home.

"I'm sorry." I said sadly as I saw her hesitate before opening the door and walking in. I got out of my truck and went inside thinking of any way I could help Emma...she said no one can help her well...challenge accepted.

***Emma'a dad'a POV***

I look up when I hear the door close. I'm drunk as usual...a half empty bottle in my hand and 3 empty ones in front of me. Emma is late and I'm upset. I do care about her safety and I've been worried sick for the past 10 minutes

"You're late." I said disappointment showing in my voice.

"I-I'm sorry sir." She said shakily. I noticed year stains on her cheeks.

"Why are you crying?!" I said sitting up. I was actually concerned but I feel that if I'm too lovey dovey with her... She will be weak...so I've been tough on her. I believe in strong disapline so whenever she screws up...I yell at her. It seems like a reasonable thing to do.

***Emma's POV***

"I-I'm sorry sir." I said and he took another swig from the almost empty bottle.

"Sorry doesn't cut it." He said and finished off his fourth bottle...clearly intoxicated.

"The person who's shift is after mine was a few minutes late." I said trying to lie convincingly.

"Bull shit!" He said an threw a bottle at me missing and it shattered when it hit the wall. "Don't you dare lie to me!"

"I-I'm not lying sir!" I said making it worse. He threw another bottle and it broke hitting my arm. There was a 90% chance I now had glass in my arm. Due to the blood dripping off my hand and into the tile I guessed that much.

"Now I'm going to ask you one more time." He said getting close to me. The third of the four bottles in his right hand. My arm was burning and I was choking back tears.

"I-...I-..." Was all I could choke out and he became even more furious. I turned my back to him as he raised the bottle. It came crashing down on my back as I braced myself for the hit.

"Clean up this mess!' I said as he went upstairs. I didn't move until I heard the door slam shut. It hurt the stand up straight... Glass was cutting into me. I went to go see the damage done. I took off my blood stained shirt and was horrified at the sight.

My back was covered in blood and glass and so was my left bicep. I would defiantly have to go to the hospital because there was no way I could get all of the glass out myself. I put my shirt back on so I didn't have to ruin another with blood and went to clean up the mess in the entryway if the house. then i walked out of the house.

I walked across the street and down a few houses and paused at the door. I held up my fist to knock when the door opened and there stood Liam with a stack of papers in his hands.

"Emma! Oh my gosh what happened to you?!" He said dropping all of the papers.

"Can you drive me to the hospital?" I said quietly.

"Uhm...yeah. Just, just let me grab a towel." He ran inside as I made my way to the truck.

***Liam's POV***

I pulled out my phone as I sped down the road. I nervously looked at Emma who was trying to keep her back from hitting the seat.

I dialed my mum's number as I waited impatiently for a red light to turn green.

"Hi son!" Her cheery voice rang through the speaker. Good this meant she wasn't busy.

"Hi mum." I said worry etched in my tone.

"What's wrong Liam?" She asked.

"I'm almost to the hospital my friend is hurt and I need you to check her out." I said looking into Emma's golden brown eyes.

"Of course! We aren't busy tonight where are you?" She asked going back to a cheery voice.

"About 5 minutes away." I said taking off as the light turned.

"Okay see ya soon!' She said and the line went dead.

I put my phone back in my pocket and sighed. "Emma...what happened?" I asked and she looked out the window.

"My dad...he dropped a jar in the kitchen an I didn't see it and slipped. I fell on my back and then when I tried to get up my hand slipped and my arm fell into the glass shards." She lied and I could tell by how shaky her voice was. I could see her cheek in the mirror and she was blushing..,a dead giveaway.

I let it go since we had just pulled up and we needed to get her in there and get her checked out.

***after she's checked out about 45 min later still Liam's POV***

"Okay honey you should be good to go home now just tell me if the cuts get worse...I live just across the street..I'm Liam's mum." My mom said as she walked out of the room.

"Uhm Liam...can you come here for a sec?" My mum said and I knew something was up.

"What's up mum?" I asked.

"Did she give you the same story about the jar and the kitchen too?" She asked clearly annoyed.

"Yes but I didn't believe it." I said remembering our short convorsation in the car earlier.

"Liam...the glass in her skin..,it was from a beer bottle...and by the looks of it...more than one." My mind couldn't register what she was saying.

"Liam, son...she was hit with them and I believe that it wasn't an accident." I turned to look at Emma. She was almost falling asleep in one of the waiting room chairs. She was so innocent and so quiet...no one would have guessed that behind that charade was a broken little girl.
