I smiled and nodded along as a woman I had never met, talked to me. Around us, people were either talking or sitting at their tables eating. On the other side of the room, a band played some instrumental music Aleksander and I had picked out as people danced.

"This is really a beautiful marriage. Did you organize it all yourself?" She asked, a plate with a half-eaten piece of cake on it still in her hand.

"Not completely. The groom helped me, of course." I answered, hoping my fatigue wasn't showing on my face. I had almost this exact conversation with five other people in the past thirty minutes and I was starting to get tired of it.

"Oh yes, of course." She smiled, looking around the room. Her eyes fell on someone she apparently knew, as she started wildly waving at them. "Lidka! Lidka, it's me." She quickly turned to me, as she already started walking away. "Goodbye, dear."

"Bye." I answered, not even sure if she heard me. I sighed, closing my eyes for a moment.

Before anyone else could come up to me, I lifted up the floral skirt of my white dress and left the room.

Thankfully the reception was being held at the Little Palace, so I could sneak away to Aleksander's office for a quick break away from all the people.

The hallways were quiet as I arrived in front of the black doors. I pushed them open, before slipping inside and closing them behind me.

My eyes immediately fell on Aleksander, who was leaning against his desk. His suit jacket laid discarded on his desk chair, as his hands were stuffed in his pockets.

"Here you are." I smiled, walking over to him. "I thought I had seen you slip away at some point."

I placed myself in front of him, my hands resting on the soft fabric of my skirt. Aleksander quickly changed that by grabbing my waist and pulling me towards him so I was standing in between his legs.

"Too many politicians were talking to me about politics." He groaned, as if even just thinking about it annoyed him.

"I just spent the last thirty minutes talking with people I've literately never met before. And don't ask me any of their names or anything about them. I don't even think they knew my name." I shook my head, the thought baffling me. Who goes to a wedding of people they don't know?

"Oh, don't worry, that'll change quickly. Soon everyone will know your name. They'll write poetry and stories about you." He smiled, leaning down towards me.

I laughed. "I don't think people write stories about the General's wife."

"Oh, but you are so much more than that. You are not just my wife. You're the elemental. One of the most powerful Grisha to walk this earth." He stated, as if he were making some grand speech in front of a crowd. "And if no one else will write stories and poetry about you, I will. Trust me, I'll have a lot to write."

I blushed, my hands playing with the embroidery on my skirt.

"And I'll write about you. About the man who made me realize who I was and made me feel seen."

"I love you." He whispered against my lips, as I wrapped my arms around his neck.

"I love you too." I whispered back, before his lips crashed on mine.

A/N: The end. I'm so happy with how this book turned out. I'm a bit sad I won't be able to write Aleksander and Anya anymore but I'm glad I can move on to different stories now. I hope you enjoyed their story as much as I. Thank you all for your support. Lovu.
